exact. Like i said in previous threads, call a kid a kid, and you'll get a 30 minutes speach. Kids dont want to be kids. Anyway, its true that nintendo really need to advertise the revo. Because (1), they need to change their image, and second, because most people who will see a remote control as a controller will just tell themselves ''WTF?'' like most of us did when it was revealed.
how do you market video games to girls? I bet that's what Nintendo is thinking right now. Take notes from the Loopy, NOT! I say tell them it can do nothing useful and it will look pretty next to their TV sets. Make a commercial where they are talking to eachother through the Rev. and *BANG* every girl wants it. Or maybe the slogan..."point and shop with the revolutionary controller!" I talked to a girl yesterday playing a DS at school why she wanted to get it. She said Castlevania. I saw another girl with a PSP and asked her what game she was playing. She wasn't, she was having a hard time trying to get it to play music. I hope Nintendo understands how to market to girls, because I will never have a clue. My wife played Animal Crossing, but I know it would not be motivation enough to get a console. I know, make an online dating program where girls can meet ultra-cool gamers and make romantic gestures with their revolutionary controllers.
From what I've seen with PS2, stick a Final Fantasy on any system and the girls will come. (I mean jeez, that and Zelda are the only game's I really see your average girl talk about/play...in fact, the girl has more FF games then me by a long shot, lol)
hmmm, I know girls that play zelda and FF series, but generally, girls around here that are "cool" or "popular" don't play, while "cool" and "popular" boys play and it's considered "cool". I hope nintendo realizes this. Japan is totally different. I'm going to china next year, so I'm curious to see what their gaming interests are.
China has a steadily growing MMORPG market, but most games are Chinese actually. They have a lot of strategical titles as well, set in a period of China's long history. This doesn't mean WoW or StarCraft aren't played though. Japanese games also have a certain appeal, along with Korean ones. Most console hardware/software is pirated though, lot's of bootlegs or clones available in shops, with most legal stuff lying under the counter.
