How would you even use that thing on a modern network?

Ill prob get get one at some point.
I still maintain Iphone are the better all round package for a smartphone. Samsung phones feel really cheap, like they spent all the money on the screen then the backing shell is just an afterthought. Ive used alot of Android phones and ive been completely been underwhelmed by them all. Google Market place is/was a mess. Yes Itunes is over policed but then they dont have virus/Trojan/snide software Android does. My biggest bugbear by far is the whole virus scanner shit you need to have on a roid phone.

Meh there are fan bois on both sides and they piss me off. Roids fan with the "lookat me im using open software" are the worst. Android isnt open software is just a bit more open then IOS but Google are closing it.

Speaking of Downgrading phones. I've recently dropped back down to my SE P900 because the touch screen went to shit (which then led to me breaking the lcd) on my X2 and I can't do anything with it anymore. I'm tempted to upgrade to a new phone but the only ones that interest me are SE phones and after my X2 I don't dare to buy another SE phone ever (funny. my P900 is still brilliant but the Xperia line has been nothing but shit with god awful drivers). I have though about the droids but when sitting next to an SE Arc, it's kind of disappointing. I think i'll just get a replacement screen to fix my X2 and hold out for a while longer.

Well I hate Apple less now that the idouche himself resigned as CEO, But will this mean that Apple will stop coming out with a new version of something every 6 months?

    Probably not

I do think it's really strange that people get so excited and pay so much for something that's designed to be obsolete in a year or less. Eventually people will get upgrade fatigue, right?

Pretty much I do hope more people like me start showing up who like their older technology

I must be the only person left that thinks a Cell phone is just that A PHONE No texting no Apps no games Just make phone calls and that's it

iOS 5 is fantastic, been using it since Beta 1 (I'm a dev) however don't expect an iPhone 5. 4S is pretty much guaranteed however a release of a new model simply does not make sense and is just pure rumours right now.

Always said it was likely to be just an updated phone. However really looking forward to iOS 5 if nothing else the bbm style text system is going to save me a few pounds.
As for updating a phone every year or so, stop bitching other phones companies chuck out mobiles just as often.
As for phones doing more then just phoning well it suits me as it means I'm not lugging a laptop round with me. My iPhone has been a godsend when I've been travelling and working round europe. People want phones to do more, if they didn't they wouldn't sell.

Only AU? I'm not a fan of AU at all.

iMessage is brilliant. Texting friends in the US for absolutely nothing without having to load up a 3rd party app is fantastic.
