No, it is completely different. They spent all their time into the graphics, where is the game? LOL

Atleast with 2d graphics it would have taken much less time for the art, so more time could be spent making an enjoyable playable game (Mr. Driller for example) :smt033

In my opinion, 'Just Add Monsters' are doing all balls out graphics to appeal to the idiots who think good graphics = good game.

That doesn't mean a game can't be good and have good graphics, but I seriously doubt they will pull it off. I'll wager a PSX Debugger on that -_-

    Fair enough.
Just think it's a little premature to say that the game will suck simply becuase it has nice graphics.
Also shouldn't the designer be taken that brunt of the blame if the game sucks. Doesn't matter how long you spend on a shitty concept as it will always be shit(ie; Can't polish a turd).

One more thing. Will you be paying shipping on the PSX debuggger :smt043

Call me what you want, but i'm not impressed at all.

It looks too CG-ish for me.

Metal Gear Solid 3 and Gran Turismo 4, both on PS2, impressed me more than this.

What hardware are these being rendered on anyway? I was under the impression that cell tech wasn't anything like finished yet. If that's right then it's far more likely that these videos were rendered on a PC workstation, which means the pictures have little or no relevance to what you're going to see in-game. It's also worth remembering that this is "PS2 will be able to do 'toy story' in real time" Sony here.

well, that's how the gaming industry work now , and this is pretty sad.

i partially agree here , there's still games that have bad graphics and are bad, you know? :smt042

t 2d is really beautiful when made correctly. its really stupid that some (lets name them casual gamer again) (...) players make the link 2d=old=bad graphics ? and its even worst when (..) players make the 2d= bad game link i would like to make them play metal slug 3 on xbox , hopping they could understand and that i could change the face of the video gaming inudstry. :smt083
    can't a man dream?

    :-D

well, this game have better graphics , but its true that metal gear solid 3 and gran turismo 4 , are both more impressive than that game .

its the most intellient reply here. :smt023

  7. It's really cool to see debates like these :)

The majority of development teams haven't got hold of PSP development kits yet, and somebody says this is coming from a PS3? Ehhehehh, come on...

In my humble opinion this is just a PC rendering some scenes the team believes the final hardware will be able to handle, just to show what kind of level of detail we can expect.

Next generation games will look like this? Likely.
These videos are taken real-time from a PS3? I doubt that...

it may be in my name but im not casual, either.
some people i know say someone is hardcore through the amount of games they have, but i have quality games. not anything casual.
i just named myself that because i was under the impression that having 50 really good games and their systems, apparently isnt enough to even consider being called a "hardcore" collector. :smt042

i just dont have that many games due to money problems, but some people wont take that as a good excuse. :-(

I agree with "DA MAN" Cahaz." Two dimensional gaming has to be exploited more, I am hardly touching my new systems at the moment and playing my Sega saturn and Super Famicom for some 2d gaming. When 2d is dne on today's systems it looks fantastic, the animation and art are unsurpassed by even today's greatest poly games, imo of course.I think Im gonna have to buy a neo geo to fix some of my needs for the moment as 2d gaming is a rarity at the moment.I really need to play Viewpoint as well.

Ironic that you mention Viewpoint as it uses pre-rendered 3D in a 2D fashion :smt042
(which has all but disappeared nowadays because realtime 3D is more convenient, except on GBA and stuff like MVS)
I really want to play Viewpoint as well but even the Neo Geo CD version goes at ripoff prices... just like Ironclad and Pulstar :smt009
