I opened it up once before and installed a blue LED. Its a NUS-CPU-05 so I sadly need to get Tim's board in order to get RGB.
Looks like more soldering is required over the old method. Am I correct in saying that if I have an older supported N64, the old method is easier with this new method being a good alternative for the newer N64's that were previously not RGB capable?
The newer method is better for NUS-CPU-05s and newer. The older method is still good for older models. Tim's board is a DAC so it takes the N64's digital video signals and converts them to analog RGB with C-Sync. NUS-CPU-03s and older have C-Sync already wired up. I would like to see a comparison between the native RGB and the new RGB on the older N64s.
