Things like this make me question the naming the internet automatically gives to any rare game revisions they acquire. I don't know what's exactly defined as "beta", but this is more an "E3 Demo" than beta. At least when I compare to "beta's" that are much more an early and drastic change from what the final product came to be.

 

Nomenclature aside, I don't see how that affects the value of the release. It appears to be a version that was only shown at E3, and as such is potentially interesting to fans of the game. I'll be interested to hear the differences between this and retail, and there's always the possibility of a debug mode showing up, which could reveal all kinds of goodies.

Yeah, I have that. There are a few differences from the final game. differences from the final release such as different title screen, extended FMV intro, different and early level select screen and the actual in game seems a lot earlier. I have a video f it over at my site under "n" in the Saturn Video Vault.

Has anyone tried to play the E3 demo above? Whenever I select a character it animates them then acts like it's going to load the level and never does. It just stays on the screen with my selected character.

 

It worked for me - both emulated, and in my Saturn

 

I didn't download this link, but I did dump an E3 demo of Nights a while ago, that was marked as 40%.

I was gonna release it publicly in a few weeks with another Nights proto. Why are some people are so impatient

 

I downloaded it but now that I know it's identical to my Japanese "Special" Sample disc I'm not going to bother burning it. Thanks to Druid for confirming that.

Wow, talk about bad timing then I hope at least whatever you're going to dump actually has differences that are worth it though :dance: I thought btw that this disc was the 40% one? The way I recall it going, the guy got the disc being told it was 40&, but when he got it the 40% was crossed out with marker and 60% was written above it.

Either way, impatient's hardly the word. One whole year, plus all the people that donated to him and didnt get anything in return, this is long overdue IMO.

 

So the disc has little to no differences?

Argg... That's why you don't spend shitloads of money on something, unless its really worth it.

Sheesh maybe I would have taken a shot in the dark for Earthbound 64, but that's about it.
