Well, if this is the 60% one then, Id argue mostly the same as far as having to have rushed it out in time. And look how close it is to the final...hell it is the final practically :(

I look forward to what DRX has to offer, though I'm guessing Nights probably isn't the most interesting game that had any differences in prototype stages. I'd think there'd be a screenshot of at least something interesting out there from an earlier version, but I've yet to see one.

Damn, that was a LOT to pay for a beta of a released game. And to spend your savings on it and put yourself in the crapper is quite crazy. That's the dedication of fans, eh? ;-)

Thanks to all responsible for making this download happen!

Note: it *is* the '40% build'. Sega just had a funny way of naming things, just all. It could mean the percentage of content in the build in this case (it is a demo after all).

I don't remember there being any screenshots of NiGHTS from before its showing at the 1996 E3, though I do seem to recall a few minor differences (lack of HUD, etc.) in the Tokyo Game Show footage hidden within Christmas NiGHTS so maybe Sonic Team didn't want to reveal much until they knew the game was almost finished? Either way, we know there was a working debug code left in until the very last minute as review builds still had this present while the retail version didn't! Also, what about the long-rumoured-yet-never-seen full split screen mode that included more than just the one boss stage? Come to think of it, wasn't there a similar feature taken out of Burning Rangers as well? I definitely saw that one in a few magazine pictures, but that's another story entirely...
