They did, it was a Toys R Us exclusive. It also came with a gold controller.

  4. It's just the lighting that makes that system look silver. The N64 is indeed available in a Gold variety - as einbebop said, it was sold here in the 'States as a Toys 'R Us limited edition. I'm not sure in Japan - I know the gold controllers were sold seperately, unlike here where they were only available with the system.

I've actually got the gold system and a controller, and if you'd like I can get some pictures for you when I get back home (30th or 31st of this month).

the gold controllers are difficult to find (well, maybe im unlucky), i know you where able to win one in a mario kart competition made by nintendo power magazine. it was THE big prize.

I did found two gamestop stores selling 1 gold n64 controller each for $10, if I had the money I'd buy them but I doubt they still have it.

They were sold in japan first actually, looked really good if you had the gold zelda cart as well.

  8. The closest we got in the UK was the Goldeneye pack. Normal black console, 007 and a gold pad.

The us pokeman n64 is longer, perhaps 4 inches.

The australian version is a normal n64 that is the same 50/50 blue yellow, but a NORMAL size.

I consider this a far more uncommon n64 than the gold.

Amazon.com and Toys r us paired up--they're partners. So it is a TRU exclusive. ;-)

The japanese one is more difficult to find and cost arround 90$ for a boxed one i have a 1 controller pack, not seem to be edited with a 2nd controller inclued.
I'm not sure i thinks that the us version have a 1 controller version.

The US pokemon N64 or the Australian version? I remember Gamestop having 3 of them boxed for $25.

That US Pokemon N64 is the same as the Japanese one. The Japanese one is available in blue or orange.

these pokemon editions look a little bit to crazy for me =) i already thougt the original design in black and grey looked very stylish

maybe i should buy that instead of the pimp gold one =)

btw. someones selling a gold package plus 3 or 4 gold games for 599$ WOW

  19. I thought that the 2 Zelda special editions were the only two gold N64 carts?

hmm i cant find the link anymore maybe someone bought it already ill check my browser history

i think from the 3 or 4 titles none was the zelda one i think i remember starcraft was one

    found it and its:
Console gold, Ogre Battle 64, Starcraft 64, Harvest Moon

so thats way to much for me even if the console is sealed if there where the 2 zeldas and maybe the pokemon gold/ silver cartridge and a golden memory card all sealed ill still think 300$ would be too much
