Thank you. This combined with Hexigon's measurements will certainly help me on this one. If I'm not feeling too under the weather (or get called into work suddenly) then I'll work on it soon. May take it a bit easy in regards to working on it instead of rushing it as I'm down with the freaking flu again.
That's okay Lamont! Have a good recovery! Looking forward to see the logo, whenever you're up for it!!
Do you also want a plain, white version of this or just simply the coloured version (which has some slight almost completely unnoticeable inner stroke effects on the coloured pieces to make it look a little bit nicer, along the same vein of the stroke effect on both the N64 and PS logos)? I just need to tidy up the text slightly and ensure that the spacing between the triangles/arrows is exact and that will essentially be done. I may get sidetracked with painting a head sculpt before I finish the logo though.
! Since you have done all the effort to make this logo, I don't like to have demands on what and what not. Anyway, I would love to have the coloured version though Thanks Lamont!
I just messed around with one of the images I found, in here. It actually went quite well. Lamont's will probably be a lot better than this one, but it's a start
Hey you guys! Long time no see! I wanted to test, the above picture. Printed a couple of "Tests" on a paper, with a standard printer. I took some of that horrible package plastic, and cut a figure, matching the one on the N64. I used a black marker, to make the corners look black, and not shiny. And stuck the logo on with some tape. I know, that there is room for improvement. But nothing the less, it is possible! Take a look, at tell me what you think! - Madsmaten
Hey Mads, Sorry about not responding - my main laptop carked it again so I've lost the 2 or so months of data I hadn't gotten a chance to backup. Literally, plugged my external in and the entire thing crashed on me. Your version looks perfect, I don't see any reason to remake mine after losing my template.
So sorry to hear that Lamont! Hate it, when that happens!!! Anyway, feel free to modify or use mine to anything. I know it isn't much help, when data is lost, but nothing the less, it is the least I can do, since you have worked so long on it. I would love to get one in cut plastic as well! And I wouldn't mind paying for it either. But I don't think it's possible. It would be a huge investment. I don't even think it is possible in my country. Does anybody of you have any ideas, how it could be done(besides the one I used)? 3D printer perhaps?
If the logo could be printed on plastic then I suppose layers of clear coat might make it look right.
Impressive! I'd like to get one of these once the printing gets perfected. Would it also be possible to re-skin the controller with the U64 decal?
Nope...well possibly, it wouldn't look right, afaik the U64 controller had a larger end where the logo would be.
Looks like someone has made it with a beveled contour. The page is in french, but I'm guessing it is vynil? http://haruko-maru.blogspot.fr/2012/08/nintendo-ultra-64.html
Why not just print the logo on vinyl, strip off the logo off a stock console and stick it on the inside of the acrylic?? Like an xbox jewl?? Just go to a sticker printing place and get some self adhesive vinyl printed (the image side adhesive)..
