Eh, that's not really true; look at how much trouble The Binding of Isaac had. I also wouldn't underestimate how many people will never get through Lot Check. Those used to the XBLIG free-for-all approach will be in for a rude awakening if they think Nintendo will let that crap go out on their platforms.

I can't say much about PS4, since I've never been a Sony Developer myself, so I can only assume, based on my brother's statements (who is a Developer at Nintendo and Sony).
All he said, was that both Dev Kits are 'quite expensive'.

Might be true, but they could easily avoid this by only getting indie games that are worthy to be on the console. So if you design a little rocket shooter but try to publish it Nintendo should do a review and maybe have a review system in place and if it gains a lot of attention it can be on the NX. I signed up not to long ago but frankly Sony and Xbox are a lot harder to get into, and they look at your business and want some game made so they know you know your stuff.

When it comes to Sony, this actually depends on where you live.
If you live in the USA or Canada, then you will indeed need to prove you're an actual company.
If you live in Europe, just your own photo ID is enough.
If you live in Japan, basically no documents are required.

My brother develops games for Sony as well, and he lives in Europe.

And sadly, those of us in the US can't use those tasty and plentiful (and cheaper) dev kits from Europe... :(

Does anyone know if the Unity for 3DS builds are watermarked in anyway to your account? Is there a way to tell easily like maybe having 2 developers compile the same project and do a compare? A homebrew program dycrypt9 can dump a app without the header would that help in anyway? I suppose in the future there will be leaked versions but just curious...
