15 years ago I was 12 and bought majoras mask. SO SIMPLE! Went to the 3ds eShop this morning, dropped the money and got an error message... Nintendo didn't get the money, the bank will hold the money for 8 days. Fuck you Nintendo at least Sega had their shit working from day 1. I miss those golden years.
I think people are EXPECTING ME since I'm back lurking around here to go on a long anti nintendo rant. But that Eshop song, at least the Wii one........is damned catchy , sure you lost a bunch of money but that Eshop tune. Also protip, use prepaid cards. I don't DARE put credit card info on PSN or XBL.
I guess I had to learn the hard way. When I get the money back I'm just going to stick it to Nintendo and the "beta release" industry standard by getting a gateway 3ds. I'm not going to beg to spend my money.
Yup - either go to your local retailer and buy the download code for the game(s) you want, or get a prepaid card from them. It's not Nintendo's fault that your bank declined the transaction.
That's why I prefer physical games. You go to the shop and you pay with cash or credit card without any problems. And in some cases you can even return the games, you can't do that if you buy it on the eshop.
True. You can't trade them in or let a friend borrow them either. Also you're usually only paying for the license, which they explicitly tell you when you purchase some games off the PSN.
Must be a cold day in hell. People here are actually agreeing with something I said. The only real downside to prepaid, is the residual change that just sits on your account for all eternity.
LOL! I missed you GoH! And man, that tune sure is catchy, hell I would even turn on the Wii and open the eshop just for the tune. It felt like a never ending elevator ride.
Unfortunately even if you give them your info there's still change. I have like two bucks between Steam, Sony and Nintendo.
So I have pretty much my whole family singing this song right now. No idea why, but it is indeed so crazy catchy. Thanks/no thanks for the reminder haha.
I have something like 66 cents on PSN that's just going to linger forever. Who knows what I have on Xbox Live that'll never be used either.
His bank obviously didn't decline the transaction - if they had, they wouldn't have put a hold on the funds. It's basically a half-complete transaction - it's been authorized, but the payment was never committed. This is down to a bug (or at least inadequate error recovery) in the merchants payment gateway pretty much 100% of the time.
I had a bug in Steam for 2 years, I couldn't use the Steam wallet funds. It gave me an error when I tried to buy something. Tried the fixes, tried contacting Valve, but couldn't do so succesfully. About a month or two ago they finally fixed the bug and I could use the funds. That's why I'm very careful now with e-shop and PSN purchases. At least I didn't have 100 EUR in the Steam wallet that I couldn't use, it was only 10 EUR.
I have $1.27 on my 3ds I was going to use. Majoras Mask will be there tomorrow. Why is it a good idea in any economic system to hold my money from me? Especially for 8 working days.
