Errr.....sometime during that 12-month period? That's some good info... Somehow I doubt they will release it this month.... Hey everyone, listen up! Nintendo's next console will be released between april 2010 and march 2015. The pre-orders will be available a few months before that! Shiggsy
I still wish I owned a micro - a famicom edition at that. The chance slipped my hands a few times and I m not into spending big for things i don't need at the moment=/
What are you guys doing with your ds lites? Since 2006, mine has been dropped several times (on concrete), my kid scribbled on it the other day, over a year ago part of the hinge cracked (which never grew more aggravated over time I'm happy to say), but it works just fine. Maybe still a 8.5 out of 10. I'd say it's a quality gizmo.
Umm... Kotaku for the loss? Fuck are they stupid. The JPN Press release said it will be launch before the end of the 2010 4th quarter. Which for jpn companies is the last day of March 2011. Now this known info since the announcement is a rumor with a range from now till the end of the 4th quarter? Jesus fucking christ. OH:  I was expecting another link to the DSiware game (god people are fucking retarded)
Yeah I know, I just stopped reading gawker blogs altogether Between the increasingly idiotic rants at kotaku (rogers I'm looking at you) and the insuferable Mactard apple loving at gizmodo, is like I'm developing some sort of ADD from reading that shit. That and they screwded up their RSS feeds, and I'm not taking the trouble of going there...
I don't know what you mean, they have dedicated a whole 4% of their site to non iPad news this last fortnight!
Because same date numbers are the best way to launch a commercially successful console! Just look at the Dreamcast
It might be just me but I don't see why nintendo should release it this year. Maybe for japan I can see since sales are declining but in the USA? Fuuuuu they could just ride out another holiday with the DS and probably still end up with the most sold systems.
I see your point, since PSPgo is going nowhere and doing worst than the original PSP, there's no rush to release the 3DS.
In japan the core PSP is selling better then DS (all 3 combind). The PSP-Go is not selling anywhere so it's not worth considering. As well DS software is on the decline. Big name DS titles are not performing all that well anymore. Only a select few titles are still performing on target (mostly Mario, Level 5 games, & Dragon Quest). In USA DS combind sells more then any of the home systems and even sells 2x the best selling consoles does for the month. There is practically no reason at all for NOA to botch that by selling a more expensive system when they can still milk the DS for one more christmas. There also is more then enough software for publishers to bring over from japan to carry the DS for the rest of the year (Square Enix has a few, Namco has a few, Nintendo even has a few).
I know about Japan and IMO thats simply because it has sold like crazy for almost 6 years, and everybody who could want one probably has it already. Maybe is not cool anymore, since now even old people have their own DS...
Yeah but in japan it's not just HW sales. It's software sales. Titles that should have sold reasonably are bombing or under performing. Hell even the last zelda on DS did not have strong sales. It sold pretty good (relative to 3rd party games) but not great compaired to the previous DS zelda. It sales were bad enough that you can find brand new copies for under 500Y. Also another side note. You would think nintendo would rush to get the new pokemon out and give it a 3-6 month window to milk the DS a bit before releasing 3ds.
So, if the Go isn't selling, when can one expect some heavy price cuts on the available units? I d snatch a couple of Go's if they drop the price to ~100.
They're not dropping to $100 for a while. You can get them for roughly $200 ($50 cheaper) but yeah they should come down. Really Sony needs to do a full scale price drop of the PSP for USA & Europe. $150 for core, $180 for PSP-Go or PSP bundle.
