    Hello all,

As Nintendo NDA provided with Nintendo NX dev kits is supposed to end tomorrow, and as the Nintendo Annual financial results meeting is tomorrow, we may (I say "may") have some informations tomorrow about the new Nintendo system.

In my opinion, and by looking at the amount of money spent by Nintendo on R&D, we should see something with a lot of different hardware, maybe something fully customisable (and this customisable thing may be part of the name of the unit). But this is only my opinion.

Anyway, I hope that Nintendo NX development will be as easy as Wii U one for independant developpers (I have a game to finish and publish ! haha) and I hope to see more classical gamepads !

wow this sounds interesting. even thought its been less then 4 years since the wii u's launch. i feel like Nintendo's strategy (from my perspective) after the wii release in 05, try to stay on the sidelines while sony and MS run a muck in the industry. then it looks like they wanted to wait till just the right time after XB1 and PS4 got grounded to stir up the mix with a new system. i personally think this could either be huge for Nintendo, or fail hard. Less likely to think it will fail hard due to the almost 4 years since the past system. imho its a gamble to nintendo to jump back to the same "level" as sony and MS.

though i would dig a new BA nintendo system to piss off MS and sony XD,

    thanks for the shares :D

Says who? I've never seen that in prior consoles for nintendo (and I had many versions of DS before it was announced).

I also think that it is very important for Nintendo. They have money appart in case of problem. And the Wii U was some kind of troubles for Nintendo. But they will not have money for a long time if they don't build a unit supposed to last many years. I just hope that R&D investment has been calculated and that they haven't build a complicated system, with too many different equipment and very very bad marketing choices (Wii U was first seen like an accessory for the Wii).

As you said, 4 years is not a long time for a video game system. But as our world evolve too fast, I think that video game system will evolve too fast too. So I hope that this new system will be able to evolve easily !

I say "is supposed". So I don't have any proof too, and I don't had NDA before on my Nintendo projects. But as times are different and Sony and Microsoft are already on the market, I guess Nintendo had to take some decisions to protect the secret. When the Nintendo DS comes out, Sony wasn't on the handheld market, so it was a totally different process for Nintendo.

Everything is suppositions. But the tomorrow meeting sound like we are going to know more about the system, like they did for the Wii many years back.

then you are setting your self up for potential disappointment. Even if they announce the systems final name, there is no proof that nintendo won't require devs to still say silent on what they are working on.

It's best to not hype or get hopes up when you don't have facts to back them up. Just speaking from experience.

I agree, and I was not saying that we will know everything tomorrow. I have just stated that Financial results meeting is tomorrow (Fact) and that "we may (I say "may") have some informations tomorrow about the new Nintendo system".

"Some informations" isn't the number of screw used to mount the box.... :)

As Nintendo first say that Nintendo NX will not be a home system neither a handheld system, tablet may be an option. If it is true, I will buy a poney and never play video game again....

I have to say, despite the fake leaks, I will admit it was a fun ride.

I do believe they may have switched gears from the initial patent (though this isnt surprising since all things change from there) after the fakes were made since it wasn't taken so well.

At least from this we got some fun humor. I rather enjoyed it and sent some emails to say how those sticks could actually work on a system like this. Was a very nice guy.

Hahaha I also really like this Hoax ! It was so well done !

As you says, I do believe that Nintendo hasn't changed its plans after this hoax, as building a hardware takes time and money. They have changed much earlier. I guess they may were worried after the hoax thing because investors are quite stupid and they can easily change their minds.

Anyway, this car mirror picture make me laught a lot ! :)

For those who are interested, Nintendo calendar can be found here.

And the financial report can be found here https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/

The next Legend of Zelda game is still supposed to arrive in 2017 (as previously said). Result Briefing is tomorrow.

Yes, nothing very interesting regarding the NX. And the fact that E3 will not be an occasion to know more about the system isn't good.

They may try to avoid the same ridiculous E3 annoucement of the Wii U. I don't know what they are doing but I just hope that they have good reason. An E3 annoucement would have been great as an early annoucement can allow people can get interest of the system before Nintendo releases it !

So essentially an iPad Nintendo style? Might explain why they are reluctant to release iOS games.

I agree with you. It is not a "totally new concept", as they said at their meeting.
