Nintendo Revolution to play GC games!!

  1. The thing that REALLY bugs me is not that DVD has only been out for a few years, but for the fact that THERE IS NO COMPELLING REASON to upgrade the format. There's no media breakdown with the playing like on videocassettes, and unless I'm mistaken, movie lengths have not been increasing, so there's no need for larger storage space (hell, the DVD industry can't even properly manage its storage space as it is - I love paying $30 for an anime DVD with four goddamn episodes on it). There's no real logical reason to start a new format other than corporate greed and the drive to have the new latest technology.

It's a lot like the PC world - everyone knows that games are what drive the constant update of technology, but in part the technology drives the games as well. Maybe if components went longer than 5 months without being rendered 'obsolete' by something new, we could actually enjoy quality games instead of the constant torrent of me-too war FPS sims and RTS games.
