Hey peep, I was browsing the internet and i came across the Nintendo Super Famicom Box Console System. Bundled with 5 games, I am not if this systems are worth getting??? Currently there one for sell at ebay, not sure if its worth the price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-Su...ltDomain_0&hash=item53f7c1e02a#ht_6448wt_1032
I don't know how much these go for, but it doesn't seem terribly expensive. And aren't these boxes rare?
I dunno about this... Doesn't seem to take standard carts, lesser video quality than the standard SNES with its lack of RGB or even s-video.
They aren't standard carts - I remember seeing one of those things back in the day in some business hotel I was staying in. The carts are pretty big and contain multiple games - one of them (I think it's the cart that has Mario World and Tetris and possibly something else) also has the ROM in it that controls the menu. The actual games are identical to the regular versions except that you have to pay by the minute to play them... I guess someone that was a fanatic Nintendo collector might want it, but that's about it.
Shot of the SFC Box with carts, and compared to a standard SF cart. Definitely one that falls under 'expensive novelty', only really a piece for a collector. Worth it if you love Nintendo enough I guess! I've seen some on auction end at about that much, shipping wasn't quite as much though. Like TriMesh says, it was a hotel product, you'd pay-to-play in the room you were staying in. Got a cool looking menu, too Bit more info on it here http://www.snescentral.com/article.php?id=0099
Well I'd say the definite one to look after would be a dev boxed console version which looks Exactly like the Hotel Brand box but able to insert about 9 or 8 Super Famicom Carts regularly into the console and switch to any desired Game you've added.
You mean this? http://www.japan-games.com/Database/images/Nintendo/Super_Famicom/Super_Famicom_Box_2/index.htm
I tried looking for info on that myself, all I could find was that page, and a link to that page from snescentral.
That one running normal games is a great boost. Don't see any tabs blocking US either. Still no RGB/svideo.
Wow! How'd he do that exactly?! =-O if I were to meet him in person I would Love to buy that off from him definitely!
Wow, that's some crazy level modding, for the SFBox and the M82! Shame they'll probably not share how they did it, least of all because of the number of people who own one of them, let alone are willing to modify them.
I think i might have an idea how he could've installed more games because there's a Youtube Video that a guy showed how to access a "Secert Options Menu" and one of the options were to install something & other switch on the box that gives a loading type installion setup.
