Not bought one yet. Too many games to play on the Wii U and Xbox. But it's Nintendo, we know the games will vanish after some time so it's good to keep some games on the radar and grab them as soon as possible.
What's this "XBOX" thing? I love me some Switch, got mine on launch day, a bit pricey in Europe but worth it nonetheless. Some games and accessories are quite expensive but well, already made the investment on those (extra pair of joycon, 4-joycon charger and pro controller). Think I've put in 155+ hs on Zelda, and 30+ on Mario Kart 8 DX.
Good thing prospective third party accessories are popping up to fix the biggest issues I've had so far: the battery life and the price of first-party gear. The only one I feel mostly worth it is the Pro Controller, but $80 for two JoyCons and goddamn $90 for a spare Dock are unacceptable. Actually, I wanna say that the Pro Controller is easily the best "3D" controller made by Nintendo. Buttons and sticks are in the right place, it's got good battery life, solidly built... delicious. Again, $70 is a tad too much IMO but it's not a massive hike for the quality you're getting.
In my opinion Microsoft somewhat hurt themselves whenever they started either re-releasing or simultaneously releasing XBOX titles on W10. Despite the increased sales in software it eliminates the motivation for a lot of people to purchase their hardware. That's off-topic, though. Besides Zelda and MK8D, what are people playing on their Switches? My roommate has one and all I ever see/hear him playing are those two titles.
I got Thumper but it's not as good as I was hoping. I was hoping for a bit more variety in the music, but it's ok. I also got Fast RMX, which is not bad at all, a nice little F zero kind of game. Also got Mighty Gunvolt Burst, a retro megaman game that actually feels worthy of the original NES ones.
Hmm, I think Fast RMX is not a worthy replacement for F-Zero. It controls afwul and there are some really annoying mechanics to it that don't add any to the fun, especially red/blue boost color switching. Just compare with an example of real 2003 F-Zero, it's so much better and exciting, even though this game is 14 years old. Every E3 ends with a huge feeling of disappointment, because there hasn't been a new F-Zero game for way over than a decade now.
Fast RMX is a good game but the rubberband AI made me not want to finish the game on higher dificulties. It just isn't fair and I don't have the patience to play games like that. I finished on the easy difficulty (or something like that) and the last cups had already more rubberband AI than what I would like.
I think the problem is that the team that did F-ZERO DX is no longer in the business, but don't quote me on that. They made some pretty tough games such as DX and the Monkey Ball games. The Switch seems like it could be an indie paradise from the looks/sounds of it.
I have Ultra Street Fighter 2, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Binding of Isaac Rebirth, Snipperclips, Zelda, Blaster Master and Fast RMX. All pretty good. Zelda's my fave and most played, followed by Tetris, and then probably Street Fighter.
No it's not worthy of an F Zero title for sure, but it's a decent "close enough" game in the mean time. The main thing about it that annoys me is some of the track design, some obstacles are so hard to avoid going at the speeds you end up getting to.
I'm quoting you. I think you mean F-Zero GX, or AX for the arcade version. The company that developed it is Amusement Vision - they were a subsidiary of Sega. They developed the Monkey Ball games like you said, as well as Daytona USA 2001, Planet Harriers, and some other games. I believe they were eventually integrated into Sega again.
I literally only own one game on my Switch..... Blaster Master Zero. I got the console exclusively to speedrun BM Zero on it . With that said, ill probably end up getting Metroid Prime 4 when it releases, pretty hyped for it. For anyone curious, I've got over 400 hours playtime on BM Zero so far, lol. Time adds up when you're grinding out runs. Was well worth it though, I currently have the world record for 5 of the categories in the game.
Welp, I ate my words and got the system alongside Breath of the Wild. So far I am liking the system more than I thought, it really feels like I purchased an actual game console for once.
I've enjoyed my Switch so far. I have Breath of The Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Ultra Street Fighter 2. Love the new Zelda, I'm hoping they go back to a traditional dungeon format for the next one though. It's still one of the best Zelda games ever, still not my favorite, probably safely in my top 5 though. I almost bought ARMS, I thought the test punch was fun. I figured I already bought a fighting game. I'm considering getting Splatoon 2. I never played the first one though, but it looks like it would be fun. Glad there is a single player mode. I'm not really an online gamer at all, and being an adult now it's hard to coordinate time with friends for local multiplayer. Gone are the days of all night gaming with friends. Wish I was a kid again....
Yes! Nintedo switch is quite awesome. I have read information online about the Switch and that sounds me pretty interesting. I am mostly console lover, I like to have a collection of different games and subscription from the sites like amazon, PressStart etc. But after reading reviews about Nintedo Switch my mind has diverted to buy Nintedo Switch.
I just recently bought it with a Pro controller and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Early impressions are that the hardware is awesome, the Pro controller is overpriced and just a smidgen too small for me to be the perfect controller everyone else says it is, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is great as always, but I don't care about Battle Mode and would have preferred to see a couple of new cups (although I'd assume these will come as DLC eventually), having already purchased the Wii U DLC. The lack of software is still an issue and I can see it being so until well into 2018. I'll probably pick up Zelda once used prices go below £40 and in the near future might pick up Rayman Legends again (although unlike Nintendo, Ubisoft are re-re-releasing it at a lower price), Pokken Tournament, FIFA 18 and Mario vs Rabbids.
I picked up a European spec Switch and I love it. I've only got three games (Mario Kart, Zelda bought in the US and I am Setsuna bought in Japan). I use it primarily as a handheld but thought I'd hook it up to the TV and it looks good. I bought the pro controller which was way over priced, however it is a good controller. I am disappointed at the lack of software though....it's been out for about 5-6 months now and it's pretty slow going. I'm not sure how popular it's going to be, but I like it. It's always in my suitcase when I go off somewhere.
