OMG. 3DS gets 3-5 hours while playing 3ds games. 5-8 playing DS games.

Wow. I wonder how well nin fans will try to twist that (Everybody use to slam the psp for 3-6 hours of play on a charge).

On here. 3.5 hrs to charge. 3-5 hrs 3ds, 5-8 hrs ds games."

    -edit 2-
Looks like this is the launch day lineup for japan.

    Nintendogs (3 versions)
Winning Eleven 3DSoccer (I think. I actually missed writing this one down)
    Super Street Fighter IV
    Sengoku Musou Chronicle
    Tobidasu! Puzzle Bobble
    Ridge Racer 3D
    Combat of Giants
Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle

Prices are pretty crazy between 5,000Y-6,000Y Sure DS/PSP games get pricey but usually for expensive big budget games, some of these are a joke.

    --edit 3--
Box pics (blue box is sexy but I don't like the blue unit, looks ugly, black is ok, wish there was more colors).

Wow the battery is pretty poor. I wonder if thats 3-5 hours with the 3D actually on? Since they said it had the option to turn the 3D off. To the Japanese line up all I can say from that is I hope the US and UK has a better one :/

Click trailer 2011 in the top. Trailer show gameplay footage.

    Decent but nothing really amazing.

Someone live blogging the event says the game's use of 3D for the effects is impressive.

No Star Fox 64 3D until the summer? That was probably the biggest reason I wanted a 3DS, so maybe I won't get it on launch day.

    Well that sucks...

3-hour battery? didn't the first PSP get a shitstorm of hate because of that?

And 72 bucks for a game? are they high?

Iwata sure is pushing his luck with this one

Now with 3D boobies! move your 3DS around and see 'em jiggle!

I bet they are going to make them "touchable" too...

EDIT: saw the trailer, it's basically DOA2 graphics and levels with DOA3/4 characters

Don't worry, you Americans will get them cheaper than that, you always do because you bitch too much about prices. Feel sorry for your fellow gamers in Europe, especially the UK. They are the ones who always get shafted on electronic prices. Actually, even in Japan games are expensive. I import all my 360 games from Hong Kong (none Japanese exclusive titles) because it's 30% cheaper even after shipping.

    Wow props for the attitude!

    /sarcasm

So what? being sheep buyers and paying through the nose is better?

And yes I know prices overseas are higher, but $72 for a portable cart is high even by japanese standards.

The original PSP was ¥20,790 at launch, but a 3DS game for ¥6000? thats too much...

Wait, there's not a single proper Mario/Zelda/Kid Icarus/Something on launch? WTF. Even GBA had an F-zero title at launch :(

That launch line up is pretty poor. I'm guessing Starfox etc will have simultaneous US/Japan releases. I think they might be looking more towards the US market for sales since the window between awesome games and launch is shorter.

As for the prices, its a brand new system with "3D" games and the DS is still a current gen system, so they upped the price abit.

About the software pricing. It puts them in line with Wii & PSP games. Some are 1000 - 2000 more expensive then the base DS pricing (but DS had a few games go up into the 5,000-6,000 yen area).

But still some launch games don't even begin to justify a 6,000 price.

There is a good chance this means 3DS USA software will push for a higher pricing in the usa early on but might drop off if sales are not strong. Kind of like how PSP games started in the $40-$50 range but now are mostly $30 with only big titles (or licensed games) going to the $40 range and some budget titles coming out at $20.

Gameplay half way in. Little iffy on the shooting controls, seems move around a bit too fast for my taste which might make the controls feel too sensitive. But other then that the rest of it looks great. Defiantly a game I would pick up when it comes out.

Kid icarus sure looks good, specially the rail shooter parts.

The TPS however makes me wish ninty wasn't such a cheapass and had used a capacitive screen instead of the same ol' resistive one.

BTW that chick with the pigtails in the front row is kinda cute:love2: (at least in lowdef;-))

DSi software is region locked, so it wouldn't surprise me if the 3DS is too.

Handheld conversions of Zelda generally seem to be a couple of generations behind the home console release. We might see Majora's Mask on the 3DS at some point, but I reckon a handheld Wind Waker is destined for whatever comes after the 3DS.

Yeah, As said traditionally Nintendo Handhelds are not region locked. But.. DSi & DSi XL are both region locked devices. Old DS games are still region free but DSi carts are region locked.

Not gonna lie no Star Fox and OoT till after the console release has changed my mind of getting one at launch now :/ I was really looking forward to them two the most. I just hope this time more N64 classics are revisited because that was one of the main reasons I got my DS first time around.
