Wow never heard of gamedealdaily.com thanks for pointing it out. $150 seems to be in the right range for something like this but am not completely sure.

Looking through their stock, they seem like an underwhelmingly subpar store in general, and they've just happened to snag some goodies from Acclaim in the form of those GDEVs. I'd be all over one, but reading how much effort and money it'd take to get the equipment just to use it, don't think I will be any time soon!

Yeah. I bought one on an impulse. I all ready have some other Gamecube stuff so here's hoping some of it will be compatible. Thanks for the find though.

Anyone bought from this website before? $150 usd seems very cheap to me. I looked at ordering one and international shipping to europe is $5???? You can't even send a letter for that much lol!

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Well I received the GDEV a couple of days ago. Not as clean as the one in the picture (not surprised). Has some scratches denting but nothing that's too big of a deal. Wasn't packaged well, and I still need to try powering it on. So over all not a bad experience but certainly not a good one either. Will update when I actually get around to testing the unit out.

Did the GDEV come with the all-important ODEM PCI card to go into the host PC? Because if it didn't, and you don't already have one, then you won't get far with it! I sent a message to the seller of these units @ gamedealdaily way back in June this year asking about this and never received a response. I took that as being there wasn't an ODEM card included with the deal. I'm hoping you're going to prove me wrong here! Let us all know the boot rom version of the GDEV if and when you get it up and running (presuming you've got an ODEM card!)

It didn't come with an ODEM card. However I all ready have one that came with my DDH unit. I'm assuming it will work with the GDEV as well. It did how ever come with a Power Cable! :p

Unfortunately you won't be able to use the Marlin card that came with your DDH on the GDEV, it explicitly requires an ODEM card. I predict bad things will happen were you to interface the GDEV to a Marlin! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Well I'm very glad to have that warning. How much does an ODEM card go for these days?

It's a matter of finding one first hah. There have been people looking for the various cards for a while, as far as I know. I think I paid 100$ for my GDevs when I had them, they aren't the most desirable things yet, and there are quite a few out there.

I think you'd be lucky to find an ODEM for less than you paid for the GDEV unfortunately... and that's on the off chance you do find somebody willing to sell one on its own.

That's what I was afraid of. I know I've seen lot's of WTB threads in the past for one. Will have to get some extra money together and make a wish list.
