Hi, anybody interested in swaping out an PAL NR READER for a NTSC Unit? The PAL Reader won't even show up on my LCD TV. Anybody know a quick fix around this?

    Thanks

    Viper

PS NR READER PAL will also come with the original box NR READER green - white box as well. All serial
    numbers are included.

The NR stuff is in the optical mechanism board, right? If you swap the motherboard with a ntsc retail it should be fine afaik.

I could be wrong so wait on confirm

That idea worked out just fine. My PAL NR READER is now the NTSC/J Version without the NTSC/JAP Region Switch on the side. Very nice!! ;-)

PAL reader won't show up on your TV? What do you mean?
Either your TV doesn't support PAL signals (only the cheap of the cheap LCDs shouldn't) or you've got a big fault with the NR reader.
Also you've changed the optical drive to NTSC, that does not make your NR Reader an NTSC model, if it has a PAL firmware it is a PAL model.

PAL wont show on tv = hes in NTSC land and doesnt support PAL.

Hes changed the Motherboard (not the optical drive) with a NTSC retail. Which means he now has a NTSC NR reader, as the motherboard is identical to retail - only the drive is "special"

Was thinking the same thing, also I bet if he had the expensive component cables his pal nr reader would display fine on his tv.
