Full Video with Commentary: June 2006 Build Footage: January 2007 Build Footage: More footage to come of different builds So this one is a huge one. I didnt buy it. Zenimax/Bethesda, don't kill me for sharing footage. Huge shout out to Morderax and the benefactor at Tamriel Foundry This is perhaps one of the biggest unreleased games for the PSP. The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion. I know I was waiting for it to come out, then it never did. We never got footage. The rumor went that the budget just wasnt there, and with the PSP not exactly doing great in the US, the project was killed. You would have figured that it was awful. But it wasnt. It was really good. It looked good. And sure, it was early, but Ive played many worse cancelled games, and few that were better. I think the videos speak for themselves, but here are some screenshots too. Most of the footage is running on a real PSP Go. The first video has some emulator footage as well, but it crashes the windows version of PPSSPP for me, although I didnt fiddle with it much.
I was finalising the deal with the reseller. He sent me the Paypal invoice but at the last minute, he took another offer from someone else (which is understandable). But I am glad to see some footage ! There was a total of 5 builds.
Would be really good to finally see this builds as an .iso. One of the most exited PSP unreleased projects, imho. N-Gage's The Elder Scrolls Travels: ShadowKey was wonderful.
Heh, Pretty cool that this was found less than a week after the original build was found in a joblot of waste collection from another developer in the UK. No clue if the other build is different it should be up for auction soon so keep an eye on ebay. (That's if this isn't the same build.) Great stuff as always! EDIT: Never mind, read the rest of the comments seems these were the builds in question.
I don't get why nobody has tried to make a descent alternative choice to youtube. I had my channel being taken down for an absurd reason, I would gladly support another serious competitor over them.
It was expected. I go through this a few times a year. We will see how it shakes out, Zenimax isn't the nicest group around.
Taking down videos from a 10 year cancelled game that was announced just sound likes the crazy people who burnt women because they were accused of being witches.
So far shared by: Otaku Games Radar Official PlayStation Magazine UK Eurogamer IGN Twinfinite Press Start Australia Gadgets 360 NeoGAF VG247 Gamespot Reddit Pocket Gamer ...and more places around the World. Oh, and it's trending on Facebook. Because it was quickly apparent to the copyright holder that footage of their IP was being used without permission. Newspapers and magazines should be using cleared screenshots and images, for which they may or may not have had to pay a royalty. They cancelled the game, they decided not to show it off and someone did. Whilst we all love to see unreleased footage, the copyright owner has the right to pull it if used without permission.... and, sadly, they exercised that right. It is a great shame - thanks to all for bringing it to light, however briefly!
It's a shame the video was taken down, I can see Zenimax's point but they're clearly not seeing that this news could also infact be a positive for them. Just look at the unreleased Saints Row: Undercover build Volition/Deepsilver released themselves. It was mostly positive feedback and due to that feedback they're even debating upon releasing other cancelled projects in the future.
Holy crap, this looks better than expected.. I never thought the PSP could do Oblivion justice, but that looks extremely faithful to the 'full' version. Hey, I bought that beta of Shadowkey off ya. Can't wait to play it! I loved Morrowind, will be awesome to try out Shadowkey.
