I just got hold of this Black Amiga 1200 with DVD drive, bought thru a London, UK contact.

For what it costs me I had to use secure shipping services like those UPS fedex, but here are the pictures the seller gave me

from what he told me, he finished working on this amiga November 2003, also he said he was one of the original designer of Amiga 1200 back in the 90's.

Probably at one time the the Amiga 1200 designers wanted to add CD Rom on subsequent Amiga release but then Amiga Corp went bust before the idea materialised.

This black Amiga 1300 might just be his proposed proto to amiga corp, only now he changed it to DVD instead of just CD ROM.

well maybe not as i expected but its nice collectors item :)

Is it black plastic or painted?

    Correct me if I`m wrong.

But I think the A1300 was made by a third party reseller.

    I can`t quite remember who now :(

But it does look pretty nice.

The plastic is black, I asked that guy earlier before commiting to payment.
He was in the original A1200 team, a german fellow I think.

Wow thats cool. My only problem with it is how the original keys stand out :( DVD makes it all better though.

I used to hang out on "EAB" English Amiga Board. There was a guy there showing off his new Amiga that looked just as yours. Even with the same equipment (modem, etc).

As far as I remember it was just a standard A1200 painted black with a notebook DVD mounted to its side.

To fix the problem with the keyboard simply find a CDTV keyboard and replace the keys with that one. They pop off really easy. Then you will have a completely black Amiga.

The Amiga 1300 was nothing more than a Micronic plastic tower sold with an A1200 motherboard inside.

Wow, an Amiga with a built in IDE converter. HOW amazing.

(Yeah, that's sarcasm by the way).

Its a homebrew. Modded A1200, painted black (or maybe moulded, but doubtful), with an IDE interface and is that a laptop drive?

maybe you all right, i havent received the package yet, but since I already paid for it, I guess I just take it as it is LoL.
Its no biggie if he lied, its already cool IMHO.
Initially he wants 1550 Euros, but I get to pay only 1000 Euros in the end.

Sorry to make you disapointed but I have to say 1000 euros for it was a bit to steep.

Although it has a 060, scandoubler and some extra bits we have to remember its not 1997 anymore! Amiga prices has gone way down in europe since then, hitting the rock bottom in 2001/2002.

I can understand someone who shells out big bucks for a boxed mint in box condition A1200 with its RF-shield intact but even that isnt worth 1000 euros nor 250 euros.

I dont want to spread salt in your wounds but if he wanted 1500 euros for it originally he was either crazy, dumb or trying to fool you!

    ---
Another thing I just remembered, C= made some prototype external CD-roms for A1200 that was suposed to sell in 94/95, theres even pictures of it on the net but as we all now C= ran out of money and had to close shops, so no CD-rom was ever sold for the A1200, thus I dont think its a prototype even though it was a sweet dream :)

Now if someone could find a working Amiga Walker and post pictures of it I would pee in my pants.

Trust me, I didnt regret at all what I did.
In fact, I just made a deal with that guy who sold me this machine for another Amiga Tower with maxxed out specs and maybe its going to cost me more than that a1300dvd

as for amiga walker, I heard it costs way over $10000, some years ago I was told. Well I surely dont mind getting that too, LOL :D
