Clearly you didn’t frequent there as the real reason is what was stated. Nobody posted anything. Inactivity was discussed on the OG Discord for a couple months before this. Beta content wasn’t banned, just certain Rockstar Content due to a pointless scare. Everything was taken down, sorted through, and reuploaded. Didn’t take long either. An archive of the site will be up but no posting will be possible. The Discord will remain up as it is very active and where all of the members go.
I think a good number of people avoided the forum due to the misconception that posting protos was banned, though. I'm only finding out myself now that that wasn't the case. Anyway, I'm curious what the front page is hinting at. Another forum maybe?
I found it odd that senior Assembler members were automatically gold members, to lure the staff to the new forum. That kind of favouritism put me off. OG was not a blank sheet after all.
The gold members were those who contributed greatly to the community iirc. Not just AG members had gold. Heck, I had the Burgendy Dev rank since I was working on games at the time.
It was a site by the former AG member “Demon” that had a similar goal to what AG has: preserving prototype video games. He had been planning it prior to the Great AG Downtime of 2017 but launched it early due to the downtime here so we would have a place to go incase the site died. Many members here were on there as well. Sadly, only the Discord has remained active. Demon is also no longer in charge, giving it over to a trusted friend.
Do you have access to the archive yet? I recall the post I linked being very clear on all protos. Anyway, what RVT-H game did they release over there? Current landing page says someone released something.
