    Huh... A+B+C+Start was going back to the game title screen for me. As was hitting the reset button. Is there an option somewhere that I'm missing? I believe this was happening with and without the Action Replay cart. I'll check again tonight too...

    Awesome neuroacid !

    Thanks for your work, i'm testing it.

    I have a request, will it be possible to have fast/full boot on buttons X and Z for example instead of having an other menu before launch ?

    Neuroacid I just wanted to tell you that I truly appreciate the time and effort you have put into this program. If I had to hit that dinky button every time I wanted to play a game I would go crazy!(assuming it was past 10 lol).

    I do have a question though. I don't know if it's possible, but is there any chance of there being cover art supported in the future? If it is possible for you, I would gladly try to gather all of the cover art for you. I know it isn't necessary but It would be so awesome. Hell I would probably pay for it haha.

    Thanks very much for all your work! It's wonderful not having to do the action replay menu twice. If you do decide to include an autoskip method for your menu then all the better! Maybe add an option for a config that auto selects fast boot too to avoid the added menu? If not this is still an amazing update. Cheers!

    Help me please.

    The new menu freezes for me or my controller not respond. I can see the game list and menu interface but can't do anything.

    I have first japanese model 1 Saturn with Rhea and this is my Rhea.ini...

    auto_region = 0
    image_tests = 1
    reset_goto = 1
    open_time = 500
    detect_time = 250

    Coming back to previous menu version works OK.

    Thank for your work neuroacid.

    Well, I understand that it's another step for an option that will be the default one for 99% of cases, but I'd rather save those key binds for other things. Anyway, if the extra second that it takes to hit 'A' again, is that much of nuisance, a simple solution is to just add back in the START button for fast boot like it was before.

    I plan to add cover loading support, but it's very likely that there will be some compromises. Namely the images format, because from the quick testing I did with libpng and libjpeg implementations, it was rather slow for this purpose, so I'll probably use something else (e.g. tga).
    Obviously, this means that the covers will need to be converted beforehand. Also I haven't given much thought about how they will be integrated in the UI yet.

    For the time being, I wouldn't worry too much with gathering covers and, anyway satakore.com already has a nice database, so it would be better to just contribute to it.

    I'll look into this when I have a chance, but input handling has not changed much from the previous version and so far no one else reported anything similar happening... so it's probably something else.

    Could you please PM me your LIST.INI file? so that I can have a look to check if there's anything unusual and/or the issue can be replicated.

    Ok. So I am having a problem with a couple games. Clockwork Knight and Cyberia come up as "Not a Saturn game" or something along those lines when remaking the Rmenu iso. I went ahead with it anyway and tested them. Neither work from Rmenu or from a straight boot from Rhea. I have tried the ISO's from Emuparadise and RomHustler. If anyone has any clue what is wrong or if they have working rips, where they got them from; I would really appreciate it!

    EDIT: They were bad dumps!

    Hi. I’ve had my Rhea for a year. I’ve probably played around 80 games, all clean images, and I’ve never had an issue with any games until tonight. Elevator Action Returns (JP) froze on the second stage during gameplay, so I had to turn off the system. Purikura Daisakusen (JP) seemed to play fine, but the background music didn’t play during the first or second stage ( I didn’t play past the second stage). Has anyone encountered these issues before?

    Thanks.

    Another v0.2 that freezes here. Games are working great bypassing the menu by pushing the button. If the 0.2 loads up there is a list of titles, but the whole console is frozen and must be reset. Can't bypass the frozen state with any button pushes. Must power cycle. Using a Rhea v3.3 board, firmware 3.8, on a Saturn VA 0.8. Works great with all previous versions.

    Thanks so much for creating RMenu, neuroacid. I'm currently using RMenu 0.1.3 and it's great. The 0.2 beta sounds awesome (Key combo to return to the games list!) but unfortunately I'm having the same issue of not being able to interact with the 0.2 menu. Tried all of the buttons and different controllers but there is just no response.

    Has anyone been able to rip and use CD+G discs off the RHEA? I can get audio but no CD+G channels.

    Thanks neuroacid! I finally got around to try the new menu and the soft-reset is a godsend.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I *think* the way it works is if you're at the menu screen of your game and hit Start+ABC you'll go to RMENU.
    But if you're anywhere else in the game, you'll reset to the game's main menu first.
    So it's kinda like a 2-tier soft-reset?

    Anyway, really happy you added the alphabetical menu sorting, and the game info is handy! I also dig the button icons, and new look altogether.
    Really awesome work!
    Thanks!

    For anyone else having the issue with RMenu v0.2 being frozen, I have a fix. I found that in order for v0.2 to function for me, there must be at least 24 folders. So, create folders 02-24, throw a game in one of the folders, run rmenu.exe, and test it out. All the empty folders will be listed in the menu as...Empty Folder. One way to fix that is to fill em up with games. ;)

    The soft-reset back to Rmenu is so so sweet! Thanks again, neuroacid!

    Sorry for the lack of updates, the issue reported above is now fixed and already tested by a couple users who PM'ed me about it.

    Since there are no reports of any other issues and the IGR patches seem to be working correctly so far for everybody, I think it's in a good enough state for a release as I don't have time to work on more features right now.

    Download link: RMENU_v0.2.zip

    I also made a couple of minor changes:
    - IGR handler now loads the CD-player instead of doing a full reset when pressing A+B+C+START
    - START button can now be used to quickly boot the selected game

    To elaborate a bit on the in-game reset change, it is mostly a workaround to skip boot-able carts but also to remain more faithful to the way the system works. Using the reset button remains the same (full hardware reset including the ODE).

    See the readme for the rest of the changes/notes.

    Yes that is correct, because it leverages what is already part of most (maybe all) commercial games for the system (soft-reset to main menu and then return to CD-player).

    A different solution is possible, but more of a hassle than it's worth, because it requires a lot more code and setting a hook somewhere (probably the default interrupt handler) to periodically check inputs from the SMPC. However what's really problematic is finding a suitable memory location for the handler that works for all games, especially because the available space in the system reserved area is fairly limited.
    Anyway for an unconditional and instant reset there is always the console's physical reset button :)

    Looking for some clarification as there seems to be allot of misunderstanding reading back through the past two pages.

    At any point, during any build, was it possible to press a button combination from within a game to get BACK to the RMENU?

    There seems to be allot of people assuming this, and then one point where I think you had agreed with someone asking this, but then your further explanation disavowed it. From my experience, the typical Start+ABC OR pressing reset will take you back to the CD player where you can only start the game you had loaded. THE ONLY WAY TO GET BACK TO RMENU has been a POWER CYCLE. I'm just trying to make sure that I'm not missing something, or making a mistake here. Those have been my results, but several other people said that you could return to RMENU in the above posts.

    Thank you for your time, and the RMENU.
