As long as it's invite-only to the true patrons of the forum each one with a personal login, running on a box that can't be tried to anyone, it shouldn't really matter where the box is located. Shiggsy
That's fine for securing the server. Just be aware that you can still be held legally liable here for the content if it is uploaded within the US, even though it resides on a foreign server. Hard to track down and prove, but still a consideration.
Using a foreign anonymous proxy for the connection while uploading should be enough to avoid that kind of troubles, thought it can slow down the upload process (by my experience proxy connections are speed killers).
If you have something really sensitive to upload, it doesn't cost much to buy two shell accounts in Uruguay and Taiwan or whatever and upload the stuff through them. Or borrow a botnet.
Anywhere but Uruguay. Upload speed in most of connections is still 128kbps, and all internet-related services are damn expensive :banghead:
