Old Nintendo Patents.

While browsing for some new Nintendo patents, I found interesting patents related to old systems (Gameboy, Gamecube) and some of them give us a quick overview of what could have been our lovely systems if design choices were different.

Some of them are pretty strange, like the Pager Cartridge for the gameboy color, as long as the Mailbox for the same system. But the strangest one could be the Nintendo phone (see below).

 

Cool! Interesting finds, I had no idea about the pager cart for the Gameboy, funny concept.

 

Didn't know about it too. Funny concept indeed. But the gameboy would have been quite big and not easily portable with this pager.

Just a quick click and I found a variant closer to the final plate

 

Indeed closer to the final look, even if the memory card slot are different. I suppose that this is an older version than the one I have found, right ?

The publication date for the picture you have found is newer than the first one, which is a bit strange.

You can find some interesting informations when checking them. And you can also search for other patents, there is loads of them ! Just clic on the Inventors name or the Assignee name to find other patent from the ame inventors/assignee.

 

Reminds me a bit of the workboy, could've been a great feature to bundle with it !

 

Wooo!, this is probably one of the coolest accessory I have seen for the gameboy ! Is that a true thing or just a prototype ?

 

I think it was never clear if this ever saw a commercial release or not, as far as I remember it was a finished product (or very close to).

It converted the GB into a sort of PDA, heck it even had a DTMF dialer

 

The 1DS Possibly what the NX is?

 

I need to find out more about this accessory ! Unfortunatly, it seems to be a third party company, which is propably closed since ages. Need to find out. Thanks !

 

Well, in this case, you could totally say that Nintendo is trully not giving any fuck haha.

But I guess it is not the NX, as it is supposed to be "an all new concept". The things that Nintendo said that it will not replace the Wii U is a bit strange, as the Wii U clearly need a successor (in my opinion).
