another small detail. The LED is pointing upwards in this version, whereas the retail version points forward. Early version above retail motherboard, above
Dont mean to put you down or anything, but its quite likely the LED just got bent/knocked upwards - I have done it myself when RGB modding N64's. Its very easy to bend by accident and looks exactly the same as the one in the picture once done. Its especially likely as none of the pieces seem to be secured in the case. A closer picture would help confirm if it has been accidentally bent or not. Some other little differences I noticed was that it appears to have three little white plastic washers stuck on three of the screw holes. Its also missing the small white print box which usually has the 'production date/revision number'(?) printed on it.
your comment is welcome=) another odd thing is that the power supply is labeled as NEW. I wonder how the OLD ones looked
I saw that one on Ebay a while back. Honestly, it looks like a fake. Looks like an early rev version that someone attacked with a label maker. If it was for showcase only, why would they bother cutting a ghetto-looking cartridge slot? The thing would overheat within a matter of minutes. Doesn't add up.
very good points, I remember the auction actually and how even then it was considered a fake, thanks for refreshing our memory
