2Chips and 3Chip systems are the same, just named differently. And there is a 1chip system design.
They are named by the chips present on the board:
    - 1Chip = S-CPUN, which is S-CPU, S-PPU1 and S-PPU2 in a single chip. Some falsly name these system single PPU.
    - 2Chip = named by dedicated S-PPU1 and S-PPU2 on the mainboard; comes along with the false term single PPU
    - 3Chip = named by dedicated S-CPU, S-PPU1 and S-PPU2 on the mainboard. Correctly follows the term 1Chip...

    Just some remarks:
    - Do not expect very much gain of the video sharpness of your SNES. The slopes coming out of the S-PPU2 on RGB are not improved. You'll just have an improved output circuit with a video amp. The PAL 3Chip design has diodes in the output lines, which will be bypassed
    - install the RGB Bypass before you install the multiregion board as the boards covers a certain portion of the area you have to work with.
    - With the modding board you will get PAL60 in 60Hz mode as it does not toggle any clocks on the 3Chip design
    - OSHPark just delivers PCBs. You have to source parts have to be able to flash the two Microcontrollers on the multiregion board before you assemble them (no ICSP on board)

Thank you for the information and help. It's all starting to sound rather complicated, for example having to buy and flash two microcontrollers, sounds like it'll get quite expensive. I may end up just cleaning the consoles inside, getting rid of the yellowing, buying better quality cables and getting a 60Hz mod to get games to run in the right speed and get the picture to be in the correct aspect ratio.

I'm mostly just doing this for fun and for a learning experience anyway.

    Thanks.

Does anyone know where to get replacement SNES shells? For the console. I feel like they don't exist for some reason.

They don't exist. It would probably not be cost effective to produce them due to their size.

Oh, that's a shame. The 'Retro Bright' method seems a bit annoying, and also difficult in the UK. The sun has been very weak for months.

I'd like to mod one of my PAL SNES consoles to run at 60hz and also multi-region. Services online are fairly expensive from what I've found, it looks like it would actually be far cheaper to just buy one that's already modded, and then sell one of my regular ones. I've found one for sale, here's a photo of the mod, is it any good in your opinion?

    It looks a bit scruffy.

Yeah I was kinda thinking the same thing TBH. If I get videogameperfection.com to mod my SNES though, after postage it'll cost me about £100. Seems a bit high. Sorry does anyone here happen to know of any cheaper places?

Didn’t expect to cost so much to mod. I tried selling my PAL SuperCIC modded Snes with one controller and power supply (all genuine) for 150 AUD with free postage and no takers.
