Playing on a 360...nope, definitely NOT the way to play TF2.

    lol.

It has got to suck missing out on all the cool patches and unlockables and whatnot. Jarate may seem immature and retarded to some, but that jar of piss can save lives.

I don't play 2fort that much, and this isn't even my best game because I always delete my stat pics and keep the funny ones....I might post those later.

BTW how can you STAND the 360 version? Not trying to be an ass, but the 360 port is a piece of shit. Demoman is HIDEOUSLY overpowered, Soldier has like 32 rockets, OR 40...nothing can be upgraded except sentries...plus theres a lot of glitching and n00bs on the 360 version, so dominating them isn't THAT hard.

EDIT: Oh wait, you said you got this in one round? Then you were playing against idiots. Even a shitty Demoman on current TF2 can take out a sentry well enough on his own in patched TF2, not being able to take one down on the 360 version? You were playing against idiots who tried to Scout rush you repeatedly, or a HWG on the enemy team thinks 300 health = infinity.

I need to give TF2 a try again someday. Don't think I've touched it since the last 2 or 3 updates were introduced.

Oh Mr. Casual I have fun when I play and that's all that matters. Most of what you said, with all due respect, is complete self-indulgent bullshit.

I might my drunk right now but I'm 60% sure that I'm right.

C'mon dude. It's still a fun game. Saying he was playing against idiots just because he's playing the 360 version isn't fair.

I might be sounding elitist, if the enemy team can't take down a Sentry, which is obvious because he died so few times, they don't know how to use ubercharges and they suck ass with Demoman and Spy. He either is really really good or the enemy team really sucked. I don't know how much has changed since I stopped playing the console game, but one time I managed to backstab FIVE players in a row (IN A ROW), which is nigh impossible on the PC version because, you know, they actually know what they are doing.

If Japan games is a good Spy checker like me, that should narrow it down a bit...but still.

Yes, I have fun with the game too, but I read guides on where to put Sentry guns in spots that aren't easily spammable by Demomen and stuff like that. Sentry placement on the 360 version might work anywhere, but on the PC version, you REALLY have to think about where to put it...because you have to worry about soldiers being able to shoot it from afar, snipers shooting it, demomen, etc.

I take TF2 very seriously, I don't try to get a lot of points, but I usually do, I just try to be a credit to the team and get our team to win....and I also have fun, too.

lol. Says the guy who posts pictures of his score and says stuff like "This is how you play TF2"

I think for that map I put the sentry about 20 feet in front of the enemy gate in the middle of the open ground. That way it could kill people from both exits. I had it built up before the gates opened so when they did open the enemy ran right into a fully armed sentry and it just mowed them down one after the other and there was nothing they could do about it. Every now and then I had to add ammo but that was it.

Oh, spawn camping. Nice. Thats really feasible on non crappy TF2 servers...not.

PROTIP: A spy and pyro would have taken your SG down in seconds if they werent retarded.

I just have one question... if you were such a fan of the original Team Fortress, why the heck are you playing TF2 on the 360? I'm not trying to talk down the 360, but the XBOX version is vastly inferior to the PC version at the moment (mainly due to lack of updates).

I know, I was just teasing you. I don't really put sentries there...

Sentry placement is important, but there's no one area that's perfect. The key is to minimize the areas that the enemy can use to fire at it. Usually sentries will have a couple of weak spots that a good demo or sniper or soldier can exploit, but in reality it takes a few stickies or rockets or a second or two for a sniper to line up his shot. If you don't give the enemy enough time to exploit the angle then there's not much they can do to take it out with raw force.

I usually set up my sentry and then pull out the shotgun and play around it, far enough away to cover a wide area but close enough to get back to it if there's a sapper. Too many Engineers play right next to the sentry and hit it but they're just waiting for a stab 'n sap or an uber to kill both you and your sentry. And the Engineer has a shotgun....why waste it? If you see a sniper lining up a shot on your sentry then go after him. He's in his scope and won't see you coming with your wrench. A soldier or demo needs a few seconds to get off enough shots so you can charge after them as well. They'll have to deal with you so they'll have to stop firing at the sentry, and often times they start to run around and lose their protected angle and go right into the line of fire of the sentry.

For an uber you can sometimes stand behind the sentry and repair it as it's taking hits, but you can't do that with a demo, but if you have teammates helping then you should be OK. You can always put stickies at the uberDemo's feet and throw off his targeting or separate him from the medic. You can't kill him but you can minimize his opportunities to kill. Sometimes demos try to help by putting stickies around the sentry, but they're better off putting stickies in the one spot the enemy will try to fire from to hit your sentry.

Spies can be a problem if they're really good, and a lot of the Japanese players are, but it's not hard to kill the spy then knock off the sapper. Too many Engineers try to hit off the sapper first but it's just a waste of time. Killing a spy is like killing a pyro.....kill them first then repair the damage after. And if you're playing with a little distance between you and your sentry the spy can't do a stab 'n sap because he's exposed with too much distance between him and the sentry.

A sentry works best and stays alive the longest when it's used as support. If you have teammates killing the enemy before they can harm your sentry then it will rack up the kills. If you put your sentry out as the lead killer then it will get taken our pretty quickly. The most frustrating thing on offense is when you can't get to the spot you need to get to in order to take out the sentry.

Why don't I play on the PC? Because I work on a PC all day. I don't want to fire up a game and sit in the same chair that I've been in for the last 8 hours. I play it in my living room on a 36 inch High-Def TV with surround sound while sitting in my recliner. It beats sitting at a desk. And on XBL me and my friend have a lot of the same games so we can switch around.

Well, it sounds like you know how to play Engineer. People think Sentries are good for easy kills, but its more for area denial...if you rely on it to save you or protect you from enemies, it won't. I'd like to see an update to make the sentry a little less vulnerable at the expense of something else though, in like an update.

There is one thing about the 360 version I dislike, and I know it might upset a few members here by saying this, but a lot of the 360 players, not all, but a lot, are in the "Halo mindset" and play TF2 as if its a deathmatch game, there were RARELY any medics, because "Healing people is gay" I've heard someone say that once on the 360 version...a lot of the people I met just want to be the big guy with the minigun...it might have changed since then but I dont know. Pyro kind of sucks on the 360 version compared to the PC version...

I think you'd like TF2 a lot more if you played it on PC, and hooked your PC up to a HDTV....heck, thats something I'd like to do one day, because I know the feeling of not wanting to play games at a PC desk, trust me.

When there's actual teamwork going on in TF2, it can get pretty interesting. A lot of the time you get HWGs, Soldiers, and Demomen running to their doom screaming "IMMA KILLEM ALL" and get sniped....lol....but thats usually on "noob" servers.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Pyros compression blast, and the spies dead ringer can turn the tides in maps. Compression blast can blow ubers off cliffs...VERY useful for other things too. Valve will never patch the 360 version either, because Microsoft won't do it without making them pay to download.

Sentries are good for holding territory and playing support. Sometimes you have teammates who help and sometimes you don't. I've had sentries taken out in a few seconds of putting them up all game and I've had one sentry rack up 36 kills. When you're playing with random people sometimes you get lucky and a really good defense forms on it's own and sometimes the character selection and playing style just gets everyone killed.

I don't have a problem with newbies playing killer classes, but the opposite. Too often the newbies play sniper or spy and go for headshots and back stabs but at the end of the day you need at least some people who can flat out kill. When I look at an 8-man team and see Sniper, Sniper, Scout, Spy, Spy, Pyro, Demo, and Soldier I know it's going to be much more difficult to win.

Yeah, the lack of updates on XBOX suck, but I'm a creature of habit....I don't like too many tweaks or changes to my favorite game. :)
