I really can't see this being worthy of a purchase for anyone other than a museum. I guess if I had money running like rivers through my backyard I'd buy it, but that's just so much money for something to throw on the shelf or even hang on the wall.

Throw on a shelf? Hang on a wall? Man I would keep that thing in a 5in thick renforced steel guncase dead-bolted to a concrete floor.

Anyone else notice the part below the pics that states the reason the cart is so valuable is because it has SMB on it? =P

Also a few of those questions seem suspect, like they're all shilly.

Yea, that made no sense to me either. After reading that statement, I even scrolled up to make sure I read the BIN price correctly.

Well, at least the shipping is only $2. It says that insurance is included in shipping. I wonder how exactly two bucks is going to cover $25,000 worth of insurance.

I'd play it, and have a bunch of friends over.

    Wouldn't buy it, however.

Remember the last time this was on an auction site and it sold for way less because the seller didn't know what it was worth? It was definitely not $15000 if I recall correctly...

Ha ha, I have always imagined going to a rummage sale, and finding one stuffed in a box of NES games. Imagine how lucky you would be...

I was going to offer double the asking price but the music on the ebay page scared me shitless so I changed my mind.

MIDI's on web pages is so 1998.

I just offered him $250.00 I just can't wrap my head around spending this much money on something that seems so unimportant to gaming history.. Just think of the things you could buy with that kind of money!

You're not paying for the cartridge, you're paying for membership to an exclusive club with only 26 members. See also Thorstein Veblen's "Theory of the Leisure Class".
