Found this one while I was digging thru the discs. Its dated 30 Nov 2000 which is before the Japanese release I believe. Its an early version of Onimusha. By using 2 controllers I can access the debug functions and switch the armor/weapons and characters.
very interesting thanks for sharing, game was released late Jan 2001 in japan so quite a late build I would imagine. Are all the enemies present and can they be altered in anyway ingame? Can`t remember the female wearing the pink outfit in the finished version at all or changes of armour for that matter. Just the Panda costume when you complete the game.
I remember seeing screenshots like them before. Edit: Found some at GameSpot site. http://uk.gamespot.com/ps2/adventure/onimushawarlords/images.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=tabs&tag=tabs%3Bimages&page=6
Yeah the male has 2 costumes the normal and the panda. The female has 2 as well. I was switching the weapons and found 2 muskets. One leaves a trail a smoke. I played this came when it first came out but never finished it. Is that part of the finished version? Here are some more pics of the pink outfit. The wings go in and out on their own.
Wait... so is that the original PSX version that was planned? It's hard to tell from the screenshots.
It looks like the resolution is ~320x240, which no PS2 game that I know of besides Ico uses. Maybe it's just the way it was photographed, though.
Wow, nice find. It would be great to see the PS1 version of this game but the smoothness of the female character in that last pic doesn't look like something done by the PS1.
I was wondering is the pink costume the only thing not found in the final game are there any unused enemies?
I didn't play it too far. The ability to change weapons makes it pretty easy thou. 1 hit kills etc. Did the final have a long barrel musket as a weapon in the game? Or a double ended sword?
