I might got bitten by a bug here.
Bought this broken sega saturn for € 16,75 shipped. That is $ 22,88 shipped.

Saw the sega saturn on ebay and it just screamed for help.
    So i bought it.
I'm still waiting for parts for my other saturn.

But lets focus on this 1.
I got it in a ps2 box ! That is a insult from the seller and i will leave negative feedback (just kidding)

I looked at it and was shocked that it was so different inside compaired to a model 2.
    What a wire mess.
Anyway there was no fuse inside so i put 1 in.
Power on a little flash and nothing. fuse blown.
Looked at the board but i can't find damage on the varistor. Used a 110 volt adapter btw.

So what is the best course of action here ?

Btw can i use this ribbon cable in my model 2 ntsc saturn. I gues not ?

Yeah, the early Saturns were very different (both internally and externally) from the later ones.

As you've probably noticed, the cable won't work because it only has 20 contacts rather than 21.

There are so many things that could cause the fuse in the PSU to blow it's hard to know where to start. If it's a 110V unit, then try removing the varistor even if it appears undamaged, since sometimes they break down internally without visible signs. Also check the diodes in the input rectifier and see if any of them have gone short.
