Still, TS2's map maker had seven layers or so, while TS:FP only had five. Also, I felt the music was much, much better in TS2 overall, and there was more variety for different types of levels.[/QUOTE] For me, the best thing about TS:FP's map maker was that it allowed you to have a sky instead of a roof, and weather (I loved the rain effects - I always feel that weather makes a game world feel more alive). I never liked the virtual reality/Tron style theme in TS2, and was very disappointed to find that they'd wasted (in my opinion) a theme in TS:FP by using it for that style again. Yes, but I miss some of the things that were dropped from TS3's multiplayer, such as the speed setting, Flame Tag mode, Leech mode, and I think overall TS's re-made multiplayer maps were better than TS:FP's premade maps. Granted TS:FP had some of TS2's maps carried over, but why not Streets, Night Club, and Chasm? BTW, I remember Admiral Howdy from his map maker hints and tips at Gamefaqs, he really knew his stuff and did some great stuff. Is that you?
^Yeah, I agree on the sky options being a great feature. I think my favorite addition to the Future Perfect map maker was the "stackable" tiles, though.
Timesplitters 2 is the one I like the most though I do own them all I am hoping they do another. really loved these games and I now have the urge to play them
Some people from Crytek UK are participating in the development because of a petition. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TimeSplitters_4 You know that the Perfect Dark/GoldenEye team IS Crytek UK/Free Radical? Those teams left to form Free Radical, and made the TS games. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Radical_Design
Yeah, I do know that (pretty much the reason I wanted to play TimeSplitters to begin with). I was just saying that I wonder what it would have been like had those members not left Rareware, and so on and so forth. I'm hardly sorry that things went down the way they did, because TimeSplitters is fantastic... Just a hypothetical thing, you know. As for members of Crytek working on Rewind, that does make it a little more interesting. I'll want to see what happens with it, but still, if it is a totally modern FPS, I doubt I'll be into it... just as I had no interest whatsoever in the Wii GoldenEye 007 remake. I understand the need to keep things current, so I'm not bitter because they won't be tailoring it to my specific tastes. I'm just saying, it probably won't be for me. As I said before, the old games aren't outdated to me, and I still play them. Therefore, I have no desire for a remake.
I liked the TimeSplitters series, principally Future Perfect on the PS2, maybe because of my nostalgia fact of playing with my friends...
from what can be seen from the videos and developer commentary etc that has been released on it they're keeping the look and feel of TS and even the maps etc, rather than trying to do a reboot or change the formula to something mordern like call of duty(urgh) Goldeneye on the Wii is decent, it's weird they used daniel craig as the bond but i assume they kind of had to. multi player in it is still a lot of fun. Local Split screen biatchessssss
^Yeah, well, maybe I'm just being overly stubborn about the idea. I really do hope it turns out well, and that people support it. It's better to have something new in development for the series than nothing at all. As for me, well... I simply have no interest in getting a current gen console. My PC could probably handle it, but thus far I haven't used it for much gaming. I'll take your word on GoldenEye Wii being a decent game, and I wasn't really concerned that it would be bad anyway. I was just turned off by them changing so many things, like the poor concepts for Xenia and 006. Also, Quantum of Solace on PS3 pretty much destroyed my faith in the future of the Bond series... the video game series, that is. I think 007 Nightfire is still a pretty good indication of how to make a decent Bond game post-GoldenEye.
I've actually never played nightfire or any of the post goldeneye 007 N64 bond games up until Goldeneye on the wii, and very recently rogue agent on the xbox(got it for super cheap), I'll give nightfire a shot if i see it around. PC would be the only way i'd be interesting in playing TS Rewind, i've no interest in ps4 or xbone.
^Hah, I was actually quite fond of Rogue Agent. Using the "GoldenEye" name was pretty ghoulish of them, but it had some great MP maps and weapons. Strange for a guy who prefers "classic" FPS games, but hey, that's that.
Nightfire is great, Ive been playing it with a friend lately. If anyone wants to play Future Perfect on XLink, let me know
^I don't know about you, but 90% of my time with Nightfire was spent in the Skyrail map. Snowblind and Phoenix Base weren't too shabby, either. I wanted to get into the whole XLink scene, but I can't seem to pull myself away from the Gamecube controller for shooters! Also, I was under the impression that Halo 2 was the only popular game at all within the community... but that was just my first impression when trying it a few years back.
Skyrail is all we play hah. And yeah, the only popular game is Halo 2, but Ive been talking about organizing some multiplayer nights for a few months now.
^I do still have an Xbox copy of Future Perfect packed away somewhere. I would be interested in playing system link sometime down the road. Unfortunately for me, I'm going to be working away from home for the next five months or so, and all I brought with me was my 3DS!
I forget which one i played the most but there were a ton of arcade challenges like "Kill 2000 monkeys" and crap like that. Just run around the asylum level with a minigun mowing down endless monkeys within the time limit was a blast. Overall I've owned all of the games at one point or another and its a fantastic example of an multiplayer FPS that doesn't take itself too seriously and is easy to pick up and enjoy.
Future Perfect was the first game I played on Xbox Live and LOVED it. Injector guns were soooo much fun.
