    Hi everyone,
recently i'm having an issues with trying to ftp stuff on my original xbox. i've tried changing ethernet cables, reinstalling the softmod, doing the whole ipconfig
thing on my laptop and now i'm pretty stump lol. any insights are most welcome and thanks in advance :)

P.S. the issue i'm having is that even though the ethernet cable is plug into the xbox, on the evox dash, i keep getting NO LINK then changes to FULL DUPLEX and flashes back and forth between those status.

    The usual mistakes:

Did you use a crossover cable?

Did you set your PC's network card to the right settings

    (e.g.: Xbox: 192.168.0.2 Subnet 255.255.255.0
    PC: 192.168.0.1 Subnet 255.255.255.0) ?

I had an issue when I did mine, it said the IP address was one thing on the main screen, but in EVOX it said something else. Changing one of these numbers to match fixed it and I could FTP.

if you are connecting directly from laptop to xbox you need a crossover ethernet cable, make sure all the settings are correct and you should be good to go unless there's something wrong with the network ports themselves physically.

Make sure the XBOX is set to STATIC. Also transferring should only be by Binary through your FTP client.

If you can't get the XBOX to link to your laptop, make sure you have "Allow devices to use the internet connection from this computer" settings in Windows if you're using windows.

I remember having connection issues with my setup through my router. Turned out I had to set the Unleash X dash network protocol to DHCP mode to get my FTP to work. Works like a charm with Filezilla now. Sent and received many a file that way. Got many game saves, pictures, music, apps, ect. using the FTP. It now connects in 3 seconds or less for me.

I use a standard ethernet cable since it goes through my outer first. If connecting straight to PC you need the Xbox crossover cable. Not sure on settings there since I didn't go that route...

On any modern machine, a crossover cable is unnecessary in many cases, as it can be handled in software.

Use FlashXP and Change the IP from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.3 on the xbox.

Had that problem today and i've been out of the game for a while, did the above and it worked instantly.

I'm actually just using an Ethernet cable and connecting it directly to my internet router and then whenever i try to login on Flashxp and connect to the xbox, it won't detect the xbox :/

Edit: I appreciate everyone's suggestions, and i will give each one a try but honestly though i'm really stumped since all i've been getting are the flashing zeroes (0.0.0.0.0) and the occasional "NO LINK" message
