Pac Man and Galaga coming to the 360 via Xbox Live Arcade

When you think about it, that's sort of the primary appeal of the Revolution. lol.

 

i think this is borning.... I want games that are new old games are better played on old systems not my 400 dollar new console.

 

It's an option. You don't have to buy or play it.
XBLA is an optional part of the 360 experience.

But I'm with you...a new console's primary focus is to play new games developed for it. I still can't understand why there are so many oohs and aahs over the Revolution for its ability to play older NES, SNES and N64 games. That's been possible since what, 1997 or even earlier on PC's. Haven't these people heard that emulation has been possible for quite some time now?

 

There are a great number of people that prefer legal emulation as opposed to piracy. That's the big deal about the revolution.

As for old games coming to XBLA? They're cheap and convenient. Why bother hooking up an old console when for a few MS points I can grab a HD version of the game, have it be Live enabled and easily play it on my 360?

And that's why I'm far more interested in the PS3 at the moment. Of course, if there are great next-gen games on the Revolution as well as retro emulation, then that's different.

As it stands though, I really don't understand the fuss being made over retro gaming on the Revolution on ASSEMbler. Surely here, if nowhere else, people already have these older consoles and games that are to be emulated? I'm not going shell out a load of money to play Mega Drive games for example when I already have a Mega Drive.

My opinion matches yours (except for the PS3 part ). Yeah, it's all convenient and good to have a legal rombox with your favorite Nintendo, etc oldies. But again, many of us (here at least) already own or have played these games to death in their original formats. Paying a fee for each title doesn't appeal to me really, but I suppose there's a whole new generation of younger gamers who'll discover the oldies in this manner...not that they couldn't before by way of a PC.

 

pfft... m$ want to sell xbox? god they are stupid... just bundle it with these xbox games inside the hdd:

1: jet set radio
2: panzer dragoon orta
3: ninja gaiden black
4: doa beach
5: doa 3 ultimate

and include doa 4/ridge racer, dont forget to add some hentai videos and some hentai pics. they will sell like hotcackes.
