How do you guys paint your controller ports? I have never attempted to, due to the contacts getting covered in paint. There must be some easy way to do it, if you know please shed some light.

I have a feeling someone like bacteria may be able to help you, he seems pretty proficient in the area of case modifications. When you do get more efficient with your case modifications for the N64, would you be up for commissions? I don't have the tools or resources to do the case modification myself, but I'm looking for a blue/jetblack colour scheme for my N64.. The same shade of blue that is present in the Tony Hawk cartridge case, so it'll match the case I'm using for my 64drive.

I might have answered my own question. [IMG] The one pin that is not labeled is actually connected to a metal plate on the controller ports. If I de-solder that, I should be able to work the plastic ports off.

I have a project I am working on so that I can redeem myself in terms of Case modification. Sounds like an awesome commission, I can do that whenever you need it done.

You'd probably have to de-solder the controller ports from the main board then re-solder them when you're finished painting them.

    ^second that.

Or if you can block the ports with masking tape and spray paint.

I was thinking even some hot glue would work well.

Is painting them by handbrush an option?

Probably not, a paint brush would give it a rough texture that would be out of place.
