    Hi there everyone!

I am currently modding a Pal N64, with the RGB board from Etims store.
The mod itself went fine, and everything is connected, as far as I can tell.
I got RGB as well, however I have jailbars vertically across the screen.

I am using a Super Nintendo RGB scart, with Luma sync, and have lifted pin 18 from the DENC-Nus chip.
On the RGB board I have connected all the J1-J2-J3 jumpers.
Do I need to modify the cable somehow?
Or is there something in the process I might have missed?

    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks!

    - Mads

    Hi Chris!
Yes, I feel that the trace is well cut.
Perhaps I was a little to quick calling them jailbars.
It is more a kinda "Ghosting", I have tried uploading a video.
    But quality isnt the best...

Do you mean the flickering? Try placing a 220uF capacitor between 3.3V and GND on the RGB mod. Looks like a power issue to me. Or try a different power supply. Or maybe just ask Tim, he should know best.

Tried the Capacitor on power and ground, it didn't change anything.
I then tried to hook up a composite cable to the tv, to see if the trace wash´t correctly cut, however it seems to be correct since it didn´t show any image.
I don´t have any spare N64 power supply, but it is the original I have always used, and it powers my NTSC RGB model just fine.
    I am lost atm :D

when you cut the video C on the n64 board you will got no longer picture out from composite cable .
Maybe you have a short somewhere, or cold soldering.

Exactly, and since I don´t have composite video anymore, must mean that the trace have been cut successfully.
Unfortunately the bars are still visible.
I took a thicker wire and soldered it to 3.3V, it gave me nothing.
I ended up re-during the entire mod from the beginning... But still without results...

Doesn´t appear to have any shorts.
I have done this mod three times now, and I still got that vertical ghosting on screen.
Could it be a cable issue?

    Edit:
Trying to capture this isn´t easy, but this is the best I could get.
Those lines crossing the screen in an angle are very visible, specially in the bright areas.

Do you have a Pal Gamecube RGB scart cable to try?

    Unfortunately no.
I do have a Snes/N64/Gamecube scart that outputs composite.
Can I modify it somehow ?

How are you getting RGB to the Tv?
Framemister or are you using a PVM?

Through the RGB-Scart connector on the TV.
Same thing I use my RGB Snes and NTSC N64 on and they both work great.
    No this one:
It is one I bought cheaply from China long time ago. I do have then one you posted as well though.[IMG][IMG]

ok, the one i posted wouldn't work, just in case you thought it would.

In order to modify the cable your talking about, it'd need to be fully wired to the multiav plug part, but considering you said it outputs composite, then i doubt it is fully wired. you'd need to open the scart plug and see whats wired and what isn't.

Here is a picture of the inside of it.
Seems like it has resistors and everything.
It is also hot glued together.

The Etims RGB board is adjustable for different types of cable.
    http://etim.net.au/n64rgb/instructions-new/

According to this if all three jumpers are connected, you've configured the board for a PAL SNES cable. Cables for the NTSC SNES might not work then.

Remember like I was saying earlier, N64 revisions without RGB never had it. So there isn't a standard cable.

All jumpers are connected, since I am using a RGB PAL Snes cable.
It is a Nus-CPU 01 board, so CSYNC should be possible :)
