I saw the movie today, it was awesome and I can't recommend it enough, it's the first film in a long time that made me feel truly scared, and the ending it's awesome, it blends with the movie perfectly. If you are bored and you want to watch a movie but you don't know which, then go see this movie, you'll not be disappointed.
Thanks! You should watch it with some firends, in the cinema a lot of people got freaked out and were screaming at the end.
I can't say enough AGAINST feder's recommendations. I saw this about a week after it was released nationally (US). If you have ever seen a horror movie before, then THIS MOVIE IS NOT SCARY. Seriously, most of the movie was: - Guy being an ass with the camera. - Random loud noise. - "OMG, what was that loud noise?" (even though it's the 253rd loud noise in 5 minutes) - Loud noise "scare" (as in making you jump by reaction, not by horror) - "Oh, everything's fine now" Honestly, I thought it was a fine movie, but not remotely up to the hype. And don't see it in a crowded theater: people are idiots and will start screaming for no reason (friends are fine though). The ending was good for the movie, except for the VERY end of it (the "CGI" portion).
CGI Portion, where? I really liked this movie because nowadays a lot of horror movies use a lot of gore and violence to make you feel scared, and it doesn't work anymore, people have seen CGI effects before so much that they don't impress anyone anymore, so I tought that this movie was something fresh, because it didn't use any gore or violence to keep your attention or make you feel scared. To sum it up, I've seen many horror movies before, and they used to make me feel scared, but almost the only thing major studios do these days is remake old horror movies, things that we've alredy seen, so being able to watch something different these days is a good thing.
I'll send you a PM to prevent spoilers. I can't disagree with that, but I find unnecessarily loud effects meant to make you jump to be nothing more than cheap gimmicks.
I thought the movie was pretty bad,I understand how people can get scared from this movie but its still fiction at best.I guess me being a skeptic doesn't help.
Hype for Paranormal Activity > Hype for Blair Witch > Watching Paranormal Activity > Watching Blair Witch
Not only that but I bet its creators based their strategy on that one, since with a budget of just 15k they made 100 million Conclusion: we should make crappy "documentary" scary movies
If you are scared of sounds during the night, you will shit your pants during the movie. If you arent, then the movie basically plays out like a terrible porn, minus the porn part. Awful acting, awful story, awful characters.
I don't agree with the recommendation either tbh. Each to their own, but it was a huge disappointment. To be told by the industry that it was "the most terrifying film in years" I expected to be scared, even if just a little as I love horror films! I don't like spoilers, so find out for yourselves. I wrote a review of it on another site in their film section if you really must spoil it for yourself: http://forum.arcadeotaku.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7306&start=45
That would be too simple. "Up" which I thought was a very clever, simple name is "Uncle Carl's Floating House". Morons.
No fancy renaming. It's just "paranoomaru akutibiti" (http://www.paranormal-activity.jp/). Edit: link fixed
