Might as well do this follow up category from the previous music post... Metallica (3x) Guns N Roses (Motorhead opening) Tom Petty U2 (Joshua Tree Tour) Depeche Mode (3x) Aerosmith (Faith No More opening) Duran Duran Cyndi Lauper (1st concert, 6th grade, with my Mom...heh, Bangels opening) ELO (minus Jeff Lynn) Alanis Morisette Fatboy Slim (Fukuoka) Olivia Newton-John (Hiroshima 2006, 5th row center...yeah!) Pink Floyd (3x in one week, LA twice then Phoenix, 2nd row) Van Halen (2nd show was cancelled due to the LA riots...bugger) KISS Elton John The Rolling Stones (Dodger Stadium, Wallflowers opening) Lots of minor concerts in LA Considering that I forgot about Kiss, Elton John, and The Rolling Stones until the last minute I'm probably forgetting some others. Concerts I passed on seeing because I thought they'd be touring forever: Rush and The Grateful Dead. My bad. Concerts I was too young for but would have loved to see had I known: Pink Floyd The Wall Tour, Van Halen 1984 Tour. KISS and Elton John came to Tucson, AZ....which is a small city in the US which never gets concerts. They came in the same week right before I moved to Japan in 2000. Nice farewell. Paul Stanley was on a harness and was carried to a small stage in the middle of the crowd....right next to me and my buddies. For one song we had front row seats about 5 feat away from him. I was so close I could see the mist of spit coming from his mouth when he sang the lyrics.....coolest concert experience EVAR. Living in LA was great for concerts, lots of smaller concerts and venues that I've since forgotten about. A buddy of mine insisted that we could show up at the Greek Theatre and get really good returned tickets at face value right before the show. Sure enough, he was right. 8th row center, face value for Alanis Morissette. Apparently they give a lot of free tickets to studio execs in LA, and some of them turn in their extras as they enter the concert and they resell them at the stadium box office right before the show. It's one of those "too good to be true" stories. I waited in line for maybe an hour with others who knew the secret.... I saw Madonna and that Asian chick from Wayne's World at the show. Another side point...has anyone seen the documentary "Mayor of the Sunset Strip"?
Cannibal Corpse Necrophagist Dying Fetus Cattle Decapitation Decapitated ZAO Misery Index Goofy Crap Deicide Other Crap....lololoollo I just wanna see GWAR now, too bad there not playing here. =(
waaaay to many to mention. but some im happy to have seen are: pink floyd, guns and roses, atari teenage riot, rage against the machine. also went to melt banana while i was in tokyo, pretty cool.

Absolutely loads, and far more than I can recall off the top of my head as I promoted hundreds of bands, trailed around with A&R, reviewed a fair few and was lucky enough to be involved in radio promotions / concert reviews for press & internet. Out of all the bands I have ever seen, I think I have only ever three or four times not had either press pass or been on the guest list. It seriously helps if you like music. The best concert venue was a Roman ampitheatre in Lyon, France. I managed to blag press tickets to see "The Cure" from our radio station in France. That said "The Cure" were excellent and the sound was stunning considering the acoustics were 2000 years old. Most disappointing was Jean Michel Jarre in the SECC, Glasgow. His one and only Scottish appearance and more than likely his last. The SECC in my opinion is a SHITE venue. It is a vast barn with poor acoustic capabilities, rubbish line of sight for the crowd and the stage is always set too high! Funniest moments (in my sad opinion) were "Marillion" tripping a fuse on stage at Playhouse Edinburgh (a concert I manage to get into despite being under age). Half way through the entire place was plunged into darkness & silence. A few moments later Fish lit a candle and said "...anyone got a spare fuse, we've blown the power supply?" Annie Lennox come back tour, again in the SECC Glasgow, she was mid flow in a balad, note perfect as always and raised the microphone to her mouth to end the song on a high note and smacked it into her teeth with an amplified & sickening crunch! She laughed her ass off, the crowd just stared... Most jammy bastard concert ever was turning up in Paris to a tiny little bar to find Daft Punk & Motorbass were dj'ing. Nobody else was there as it was a record launch. A few French music journos and little Brit me. They were blistering! I saw Jesus & the mary chain in Glasgow when my brother sneaked me into the venue and they changed my life - that wall of distortion was an amazing sound. Most intimate concert was Stereophonics on their very first tour at Edinburgh University. There were probably 50 other people in the room and despite any criticism anyone could throw out about them now, they played an amazing set. Next time I saw them they played the Cathouse, Glasgow and I ate banana sandwiches with them whilst conducting an interview for local radio. Personal favourite was Bjork as she was beautiful, cute, looked directly at me and I melted... The audio quality of Bjorks band is 100%. (Concert Hall, Edinburgh) Highlight was also seeing... Jean-Louis Aubert from "Telephone" in Besancon many years ago Most god like...Paul Weller (somewhere near Dumfries in a converted theatre, barn thingy - very nice acoustics, but bloody cold) Most unusual...Goldfrapp (Carling Academy, Glasgow) (what were the bloody silver, sparkly, mirrored horsey people all about?) Loudest...Metallica (Download) Second loudest....either Suicidal Tendancies or Anthrax (Barrowlands, Glasgow) Most embarrassing for me personally....Nik Kershaw (Playhouse, Edinburgh) (although I was asked to go and see Faster Pussycat and I managed to get out of that) Band I loved the most that I wanted to succeed and they flopped.... 3 colours red (Cathouse, Glasgow) Most members on stage.... some folk orchestra (Paris) I was drunk and can't remember much, but I do remember there were millions of them on the stage, or was I on the stage looking at the crowd? Most top ranking dub... Asian Dub Foundation (The Garage, Glasgow) Saddest moment, discovering that Bertrand Cantat from Noir Desir had killed his g/friend (saw them in concert in Paris) Concerts I would have liked to have attended and never did.... The Clash (frankly anywhere, but according to a recent biography I'd have been happy with the Hammersmith Palace ("White man at the Hammersmith Palace")) or Iggy and the Stooges (again, anywhere). Best DJ set ever... Laurent Garnier at the Arches, Glasgow Worst DJ set ever (and I mean in the history of DJing)... Christmas eve 1996, resident DJ, some crappy little Dunfermline pub. I was working for SKY TV at the time and spent 6 miserable months in that town! The DJ kept playing 4 particular songs over and over, then he played one at the wrong speed, tried to scratch and broke something. I seriously think he was either A) a monkey B) pissed as a fart or c) a bit mental. I paid £5.00 to get in, I should have demanded it back! Worst ever... Oasis (Hampden Park, Glasgow) (need I say any more?) Most surprising... Natalie Merchant (Old fruitmarket, Glasgow). She was great. Not my usual thing, but she was very good indeed. Furthest travelled for a concert. 2000miles Seriously, I could go on and on I have seen loads of bands, groups, djs'.
hmmm ok. Depeche Mode times 4 (2 last year) David Gahan in KB Hallen, where he pronounced KB the Danish way meaning KåBe Hallen , so he said "goodevening Kå Be hallen". Damn that concert was smashing great on his Paper Monsters Tour. De/Vision once, but that must have been the most "embarrassing" in a fun way, back in 2001. Where T.O.Y. warmed up for them, and my sister went into an awesome dance session when they sang Spaceradio, they opened with that song. And even today I think at times that song is awesome. Then D/V came onboard, and we danced tp their music and we had fun. After the show, my sister had to have some air, and the manager for D/V asked her, if she liked the show. And then she said "no I felt T.O.Y. was better than D/V, later on she found out. Who he was, and then she had red ears. But it was cool afterwards, since we talked with them . And well now I really like D/V. Kim Larsen twice. Jean Michel Jarre jam once. The Cool part was one of them used an Amiga computer Depeche Mode jam twice. the two jam bands were Danish, but none of them exist today , at least Depeche Mode jam doesn´t. And well there has been a few other, but not really great Danish cover bands since. But Black Celebration should have played at the last Depeche Mode party I was at, but there became some problems with the members. So only one of them came, with his wife. But I had the oppurtinity to talk with those two. And it was a blast
Nofx Foo Fighters RHCP Bouncing Souls Deftones Incubus Stabbing Westward Andrew WK Offspring Me First and the Gimme Gimmes Dropkick Murphys The Vandals Mad Caddies Flogging Molly Pennywise Rancid Anti Flag I know I have been to more shows but I can think of anything else at the moment.

I've only been to see HIM, but it was worth it. I caught them on their first American tour before all the goth-wannabe kids started whoring out their merchandise (all I have is a t-shirt ). I'm hoping to see Between the Buried and Me sometime. It kind of sucks that I started listening to them after their lineup change, though (their old stuff is far better than the record they've recently put out).
I've been to a few Colin Raye concerts in town. (He's a famous Country Singer who was born here) Other than that, I've been to: Jon bon Jovi concert in Minneapolis Doobie brothers (Doobie is slang for marijuana btw, but I figured 99% of the people here knew that already.:lol Martina McBride Theres probably been a lot more than that, too. Most of these concerts I went to were when I was younger and going on business trips with my parents. The company had hired Jon Bon Jovi to entertain all the Polaris sellers in the world during the 100 year anniversary of Polaris, iirc. I think the Doobie bros and Martina Mcbride were entertainment during business thingies, too.
Hanson*against my will. my first concert* Stutterfly Theset The Bleeding alarm(x2)*have an autograph of 4/5 members* Ghost Cried Murder(The original lineup back when they had two singers) Glory Nights(x2) Kincaide(x2) Ruckus*now named Alpha Decline*(many times) Push for Protection*broken up now*(many times) Remember August*they suck* A Last Goodbye*mosh pit right on the stage.hells ya* and prolly some i forgot.
Best one I saw was Marco Carolla @ Maniac Love sometime around 2003. Worst one (by a famous person) probably Ken Ishii. He's not much of a DJ. Others I've seen? Not been going out much lately as I can't hang w/ all the shit that goes along w/ clubbing, but, to name a few: Ones I got to see, meet, and party with: Marco Carolla Jeff Mills (got to escort to Kyoto & translate for him) Captain Tinrib (a few times -- crazy nutter) Max from Alien Traxx Pete Wardman Aphex Twin (played in a friend of mine's bar, which holds like 200 people) Daz Saund (lovely guy) Trevor Rockliffe Umek Valentino Kanzyani (sp?) Joey Beltram Guy from the Kunckleheads who's name escapes me Steven Thomas Ian Moore Eddie Halliwell BK Ben Sims RR Fierce (twice... crazy mother fucker, and very fun to hang w/... a shame he died) Karim Shinkawa -- only about 1000 times. My favorite Japanese DJ Tobynation Yo-C QHey Probably a lot more I'm forgetting Ones I just saw: Oliver Lieb Takkyu Ishino Dave Seaman Louie Vega (same show w/ Dave Seaman. Louie Vega sucked) shitloads of others I didn't have a whole lot of interest in. Concerts: Depeche Mode (Violator -- first concert) Depeche Mode (Songs of Faith & Devotion -- both loops) Lollapalooza 1-4 (shitloads of bands) U2 (Achtung) The Cure fuck... lots more that I can't be bothered to name. EDIT: James Brown New Order (friend took too much acid and wigged out) Duran Duran
Even though being really into music I haven't been to many concerts Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden (Ozzfest), Tool, A Perfect Circle.
Iron Maiden (Dance of Death Tour in Nottingham) AC/DC (Stiff Upper Lip Tour in Sheffield) Glastonbury 2003 Paul McCartney playing a ton of Beatles hits (played over his time and cost the festival a huge fine, apparently. Truely the best thing I have ever been present to witness musically. Only bad thing was him turning up late, playing Let It Be/Hey Jude for too long and the rain afterwards. Pitch black and walking through knee deep mud is not fun!) Chemical Brothers (trip-like concert late at night - amazing) Kings Of Leon (would love to see them solo concert) Groove Armada (say no more, nice sunset) Lost Prophets (not bad live, but the fans - eef) Franz Ferdinand (not very good live IMO) PJ Harvey (Embarassing) Black Eyed Peas (Terrible, but the girl was nice) Star Sailor (Nice band) Basement Jaxx Muse Supergrass (Amazing, again.) James Brown (Ow!) Festivals are great things. If only you didn't feel so dirty afterwards (but unisex showers!)
Saw him at the Budoukan in 2003. Forgot to list that one. It was good, but short. His wife that's trying to get his loot now performed as well.
