Hard to believe, I know. Paypal told me that they cannot do anything against it when the buyers CC company charges the money back.

I still have the tracking info that the package got delivered, also the sheet from the post office where I posted it.

I got my families lawyer on that case but as US is not part of the EU ;) no chance at all.

I will never ever use paypal, thats for sure.

As far as I know PP can challenge the CC company with counter proof.

But yeah at the end of the day it's probably better not to use paypal at all, my idea is to only use it for small amounts so no real damage can be done anyway.

I will only use Paypal as a buyer from now on, if I have to.

Paypal should have a setting where you can select Credit Cards you accept based on where the issuing bank is domicile.

Paypal seems very over reactionary. I'm pretty sure if enough people got on their case about it they would add that.

Same thing happened to me 2 years ago, i got 300 euros seller protection from paypal of 1000 euros deal, so i loosen 600 euros.
The guy ended on prison for murder (i asume there is divine law at all)
    http://www.ajc.com/news/cobb/arrest-made-in-95-276508.html
this guy on the picture is who scammed me

anyways, my advice, dont use paypal to sell expensive things

and resuming, if the buyer goes to his bank and says he never authorized this payment, and he gets his money back from the bank, paypal will not care about you, its a waste of time

Just ignore all emails coming from paypal (or whoever) in your mailbox, log in to the official site, and check there is there are any messages.
There are just too many scams going on to take any email serious.

I second this. Anything via email anymore is just too suspicious.

I hope it stays good even if it gets more popular. Remember: eBay used to be not so bad.

Just check from your paypal account (via web, never follow email links) and see if there are any notices for you there.

I mean if I trusted my email, i'd have size D nockers and blizard wishes to correct my WoW account due to a server change even though I don't have a WoW account.

well, its easy to understand why paypal/ebay sux so much today.
They are a company and theyr goal is to make money, so if there is a problem, its not going to be paypal who looses the money, someone else will.
Anyways, i really think they are ruinning theyr bussiness, i see less auctions every day, ebay is not a right place for valuable stuff anymore, just for chinesse crap under 10usd.
Sell anything worth more than 100 euros there is a risk today

Well didn't take long, currently got an open dispute with MrHard from this very forum..

He hasn't even given the opportunity to sort this, I offered to rectify the problem and he has raised a dispute in PayPal instantly.

Trying to claim all his money back for more than one item including shipping costs.

Hope this type of claim isn't passed in the UK the same way it is in the US.

    Its a sad, sad day.

What an arse. If you offered to fix the problem then why the complaint?

Yakumo, I have no idea why. I'm guessing to raise the dispute like this he is trying to get all his money back, I offered to buy a replacement laser, I would have even tried to sort out for having it fitted for him if it was of inconvenience.

I thought here pretty much everyone was level headed and mature enough to go about situations properly. I have been here for years and sell often, this is only the second issue I think I have ever had whilst being here, I am more than happy to try and sort this out, I have asked for the unit to be sent back to me instead and I will refund the purchase price of the TEST.

ShovelThumb, thanks mate, its a real bummer it has come to this, ruins it somewhat for everyone I trade with. Hopefully he can't damage my rep by running his mouth in my thread like he has done. :/

    ^^

I shipped a PS3 abroad from the states to Austria, it had a brand new laser and was tested immediately before shipping.

The buyer claimed it wouldn't read discs when it arrived... luckily my buyer was a decent human being and we worked it out and got insurance to refund him either enough to get another laser installed or got a full refund (I'm not sure how much he got back) but he did seem pretty happy once he said they approved his claim :p

Hope you guys end up with a good resolution that doesn't end up with one or both of you loosing out on shipping fees
