Right, I wasn't expecting them to work, then when I saw the intro and title screen I thought it did, that's why I corrected my post. Motzilla, did I read that correctly that even with a Supergrafx the Turbo ED won't play Supergrafx ROMs?
sheath, if you have a SuperGrafx, the Turbo ED WILL play SGX ROMs. But you can't play SGX games with anything other than a SGX console. Also, did you try using the System 2.0 card on the Turbo ED and then try to play a standard CD-ROM game like Ys I&II? Curious if that will work.
I'd be interested to read any comments from people with PAL systems that have tried this cart. I can pick a new old stock PAL system up for around £50, but I assume the difference between PAL and NTSC will be noticeable on such an old console.
I think PAL systems are just US systems modded to run at 50hz and output PAL. I suppose it is possible to mod them back to NTSC but I have never read anything about that. The games should all work but the speed will be slower like most old PAL releases.
I bought a NOS Pal Turbografx last year, came with the game Blazing Lasers and an accessoires box. I bet you are talkinf about the same set. Anyway, the Turbo ED works flawlesly with it, buy with confidence :smile-new:
Can a ripped CD game play on Everdrive card or would a physical CD be required? I ask because I have Space Fantasy Zone in ripped format in BIN/CUE format. It's been a few years since I've had a working CD burner, with just about everything being downloadable (ie Steam) and runs off USB drives.
No. The Turbo ED only plays games released in HuCard format. To play CD ROM based games, you'll need to burn it to disc.
I got my Turbo EverDrive today. Glad that it does have that reset button on it. Had to organize all my files a bit too. One thing I noticed is that the DUO-R's Power Switch/Safety Blade gets stuck on the Micro SD card often. If you push on it and move the switch you can get it to power on with the Turbo ED inserted but that was kind of annoying. I don't know if its my card or what. Can't wait to play with it more later.
That's odd, my SD card slide all the way into the slot and clicked into place. I didn't notice the switch touching anything but the end of the PCB. I haven't tried the System Card 1.0 yet, I'll try to fire up Altered Beast today to see what happens.
Got my ED today. Only had a quick play with it but it seems like another great flashcart by Krikzz. The friend I ordered one for is very happy with his. Both of us are using RGB-modded Duo-R's.
Mine just arrived at my door :congratulatory: (order 2604). Can't wait to check it out once I'm back from work. I bought the Neoflash team cart a few months ago in a group buy, but sadly it just wouldn't work on my RGB/region modded Duo-R. Luckily, I manage to sell it back just a couple of days before krikzz announced that the Turbo Everdrive was ready. I got the console earlier this year, but I've limited my purchases of hucards. In part because I was hoping a flash cart would work in mine and also because of how costly most games are. Will update to confirm if it works in my DuoR. Update: just tested a couple of roms (both US and JPN) and everything works perfectly. Really happy with the purchase. Another amazing job from Krikzz.
Received and tested this weekend : as good as my everdrive MD I quickly test SF2, jackie chan, soldier blade : perfect (on my RGB mod not finished coregrafx 2). The only thing is i have to format my micro SD (from another card), the newly added files do not appear on the select menu. Another good point compare to my everdriveMD is that the complete file name appears on the bottom of the screen (perhaps the last OS correct this point...). Thanks Krikzz, all i need is time to play now, but junior doesn't agree
i received my turbo everdrive today, did we scrap the usb port? anyways, time to load a SD up! are there instructions somewhere?
D-pad: Navigate Button I: Back/Turbo ED information (at root of SD card on screen) Button II: Select Run: Flash selected ROM Select: Run last flash ROM on ED (when Micro SD card is present) Last game flashed to the ED will automatically load if no Micro SD card is inserted. Use reset button (white button near Micro SD card slot) to reset to Turbo ED menu. Switch marked "TG16/PC Engine" must be selected for the correct console.
SELECT = Run Last Loaded Game ... very quick, just power on the PCE and hit select and you're running the game again (rather than burning it again). I don't know about yours, but my TED doesn't run last loaded when you hit RUN, only when you hit SELECT. Just got mine today (order #2674). Works great on an SGX with svideo mod and region mod. I'm VERY happy.
