It depends on who gets to decide if it's broken. That saying is one of the most pointless and annoying statements ( it's beaten by "you always have to have the last word" ) and is used far too often. Progress isn't always good, it doesn't always work. But it has to happen.
Dunno, what about most gamers saying that it sucks? Like, shadow the hedgehog needs a complete makeover, assassin's creed has some crappy parts too (like the ending) and even halo2 had some shortcomings. Conker BFD was almost flawless, they could've ported it with the new graphics and let it be, but no! they had to add some dumb mix between the original multi and halo/vehicles shit, and it sucked bad... That and the bleeping of many cuss words, which didnt happen in the N64 version. Who's the kiddy company now?
Shadow the hedgehog needs to just plain not exist. I haven't played that game but I imagine it sucks. He needed to be in SA2 and thats it, since he was kind of fun to play as in that, since he was like Sonic. He looks like Mickey Mouse too. Second though, Sonic having a storyline needs to go away too. At least bump it back to Sonic and Knuckles/3 style, with those little scenes of Knuckles punching a boulder at you, etc.
Honestly, dunno: even if StH was made as just another sonic game (instead of some Jak wannabe) chances are it would have sucked anyway due to crappy development and such. But a StH on Wii using the wiimote to point&shot and the nunchuck to move would've been, in my opinion, a far better choice that the on-rails gameplay we got on SSR. About story, the problem is simple: it sucks. In the sonic adventure games it was fairly decent, but it all went downhill after that. The problem is, if you remove the story it may be considered as a step back for the series, since now every low budget platform game has some sort of cutscene-based story. What they need to do is hire some writters and get a decent plot for the next game.
I don't think so. I think if they threw in a simplistic story like the old ones nobody would complain but the furries.
So you mean just a small story in the manual and mute characters? cuz thats a no-cant-do for sega... They could go Zelda-style and make it all text, that would be cool. On the other hand, think that all those furry fans at deviantart are the ones who keep buying this crap, just like frat boys will be the only ones at Halo 6's launch:lol:
Well, I don't mean totally no story like that...but I wouldn't mind mute charectars or Zelda style, I think that'd be nice. I dunno really. I was at Halo's launch zomg!
I was trying to draw some parallelisms here, since Sonic was an extremely popular franchise back in the 90s, and Halo is the most popular franchise nowadays. After the fourth sonic game (S&K) the creators decided to leave the development of further games in the series to other teams (like traveler's tales) and even today theres little or no connection between the original sonic team and the teams of developers working on the latest sonic games. Bungie is also trying to leave the Halo franchise to others in an effort to develop other ideas they have. Halo 4 will not be made by the same guys that did the first 3 games, and while nobody can say that therefore the game will suck for sure, recent history shows that in these situations the odds are the game will be not even near as good as the one(s) made by the original team. These furry fanboys that keep buying the recent crappy sonic games were die-hard sonic fans 15 years ago, and we know Halo is extremely popular in most frat houses, ergo the joke about frat boys being the only ones in Halo 6's launch...
