480p @ 60Hz is a NTSC resolution. And it's obviously not PAL-50 ONLY, otherwise it wouldn't display at 60Hz, now would it? -hl718
yes, it would hl718 i ve caught you off your guard this time Even stubbs the zombie, which is HALO 1 engine, and 50Hz ONLY in the PAL release , works like a charm (This post marks my first knowledge-victory against hl718, i think I ll have a party :lol
Will the suffering ever end at PAL-land? I was playing Shenmue2 on my XBOX 360 (PAL game on a PAL console) which thankfully supports 60hz. As such, I decided to plug my standard VGA cable. As I was excited and pissing my pants to rush into the Arcade store and play Outrun and Space Harrier, as Ryo sat in the cabinet, a familiar error popped up. What was that error you might ask? It was the damn 50hz message. I didn't even get a chance to save the game. Interrupted, and thrown out. I hate PAL with religious passion.
I just noticed HALO PAL won't run over VGA because of the same issue. Do you have an address for cheap USA xbox 360's in europe?
n-y-n there is a way around it. I ve been able to run conker and stubs the zombie (HALO 1 engine, meaning 50hz only in PAL release) , both of which are 50hz only. it involves getting a component-box->VGA (got one for 50USD). the results, as u see in my screenshot (previous page) are indistinguishable with the vga cable - although only recommended for XBOX 1 games, since it's 480p for u, unless you have a widescreen monitor. if u need the details on "how-to" (it's kind of tricky, nothing special though), just tell me
why do people insist on running their 360 on weird ass resolutions? just do 1280x720... you solve lotst of things that way.
Because it doesnt make sense to use a widescreen res on a non-widescreen monitor. Besides, that wont solve the 50/60hz mess.
