    yop :)
I got Phantasy Star Online Xbox for Christmas (I had read on the box XBOX Live Required) it does not bothered people , I had a patch
Finally ... I quickly disillusioned , the patch slowed the games, gross errors script , English moments, bugs , patches and I do not want (like change drops ) .
This is the description of the most recent patch , so I can not imagine if it were the other prototype
Buy the same games on gamecube ? ?
    Yes , but hey :

    New Xbox : 10 €
    New Gamecube : 80 €

In short, there are many technical , must arm themselves with action replay (or Xplorer 360) , and the official memory card , no problem I have everything.
And with this, you can transfer a gamertag to Xbox memory card (Ah yes , PSO does not connect to xbox live , but looking for a gamertag , that the first is close therefore prevent either play . )

So now, someone on this forum he has an original Xbox play online game at least one time, and thus a first Xbox gamertag ? Or knows where I can get one? ( Not on the Xbox website , the gamertag 360 are not compatible . )
Until now , no way to play , so good ... :/

Thank you for your answers :)

How to transfer a Xbox live account from HDD or Memory card to PC? (Ive asked you aswell by PM) but anybody else knows? I got Actionreplay and FTP access (so PSO can be played patched and hacked at my place) but I like to share my Accounts for free ;)
Image shows the 2 accounts I like to upload, only where are they stored? I looked in UDATA and TDATA, but no succes sofar.
(most left account is mine, still in use(on 360))

    EDIT: http://www.isy.vcu.edu/~gdhillon/Old2/secconf/secconf07/PDFs/56.pdf
Is it stored inside the filetable ? ... then I may need to rewrite some FATX reader to show this ;P

You can't just copy with the MS Dashboard ?
Press A on a little Icon ( With a Memory card in the Controller ), you just have Erase ?
Normally you can have copy ( But , xbox have a protected file can't be copy . )

Can copy, but how to extract it from the memory card? it is not showing up in ActionReplay ( wich is known from the beginning, Action-replay does not support account transfer)

Maybe With Xplorer 360 ? It is compatible with first xbox memory card.
And it show different partitions. :)

(I have test with different savegames and memory card )

So basicly its done. And something I knew before but forgot somehow.

First things first, get a memory device, for example an regular USB stick of around 1 or less Gig (I used 2 gig, works nice, but backup and restore takes a long time)
or a MS memory card, but you need to be able to write and read it with Xplorer360 (I used Beta 6, maybe others work to)
Backup all important files bla bla... you got that right? your gonnan lose all files on that damm thing and Im not responsible.

Put the USB massstorage device in your Xbox (by a adapter or cable) can be in your Gamecontroller or Directly in one of the gamepadports(it works with mine)
XBox will tell you its broken and that it will fix it.. Nice, you got a damm big memorycard now.

At your pc, load Xplorer and "Drive">> "Open" >> "Memcard"
    Then "Drive" >> Backup Image..
Ok, you got a big file...
DOwnload my Xbox live account file http://codeasm.com/xbox/files/Accounts/angul.xbla
its 108 bytes big, and it was not mine LOL (xbla is a extension I made up!)
copy and paste all of it in your image (Overwrite all 00000000)
and it should look like this:
Save this, maybe with a new name

Then "Drive" >> Restore Image.. (use this new image)

Put the device back in your Xbox and you should have the Xbox live account :D

under linux you could mount your usb, and use DD to copy just my file to your storagedevice at the precise location
    dd if=/home/user/angul.xbla of=/dev/sda skip=50 bs=108
BUT im not sure if this is correct. I did try the windows way

I finally got all 3 editions of PSO in the mail this week. I can now compare what the patch did to the Japanese version and repeat those patches to the American and European versions.

Contrary to popular belief, it is *not* simply the Japanese executable.

I have all copies of PSO also, got them with my Japanese XBOX Live Beta Kit :) So I take it you can't copy XBL accounts through FTP?

Nope, unless you or someone knows a way to directly write to the HDD (maybe linux and the DD command, risking a corrupte FatX) but you can write it to any random USB massstorage device, and connect it to one of your gamecontroller ports, and transfer it to the hdd that way. (just 4 wires from the MS gamepad connector to USB 1.1)
Choose a small USB device and 2 gig will cost 2 minutes reading or writing using xplorer360.

Unless someone or me create a small program to do this job.

So I take it that it's deeply embedded into a MU or Hard Disk? I have a system with Live accounts on there.

Thx to JayFoxRox for the more permanent source: http://hackipedia.org/Disk formats/Partition tables/X-Box/
Wich explains the Fatx file system a bit (Memorycards are almost similiar) Xplorer360 and alike work nice with it.
They contain Xbox live info inside the filesystem, and can hold a few live accounts, on a memorycard its locked to 1.
wich is just an empty space when no account is stored (I dint checked a Dashboard without live how it will format the memorycard or harddrive.

Originaly I got my info from the linux pages for Xbox, but they are down.
I dont know if Xbox live friends are stored aswell, might take a look into that aswell. if i take this to a program, i might start an own thread. but for now:
a few accounts are stored in the first sector(s) of the HDD and 1 in a memorycard. by corupting an account it will be just removed.
Formating is done by writing an header FATX and a few bytes of whatever, till a sector 1 or 2. rest is left untouched (you could recover files)

Wich makes me wonder if ill be able to recover files from my DVT4 hdd ;) but thats another topic

Hmmm, very interesting - even though I tried my best to understand it and the linux write ups you linked explained the FATX pretty well, that I could understand.

Able to store other data in the same area and see if it appears as userdata as well on the dashboard? I never knew the dashboard userdata scans other areas other than UDATA and TDATA.

the Xbox dashboard finds more info on the hard-drive, non normal file system way, just like the Xbox360, they keep certain things at a precisie location.
XNetLoadConfigSectorthx to JayFoxRox for pointing to this, there are some more functions that return values usefull.

I also keep remembering that an Memory card or Hard-drive is just like memory addressable, the file system is just a layer in between to make some sense out of a blob of data that could be just data or code.

I'm not understanding any of this at all how is it possible to play this game if its online only, and the fact that the original Xbox live servers are closed ?, I just don't know how to play the game when it is shut down like this .__.

Its not online only. It just required an Xbox Live account to start the game, single player or not.

The single player mode is suposed to work only with an valid Xboxlive account or an Hacked Xbe.
Most people choose the hacked XBe because their xbox is modded with a softmod or modchip anyway.
(I dumped my accounts because an other thread is about recreating Xbox live and I am intrested into that, so I dumped the XBox live accounts)

Ive tried Phantasystar online myself, it has a singleplayer mode.

I always thought PSO would still work online? Is it really just to play singleplayer?

If all you want is to play the game you can surely just patch the check away or write a short loader which hooks NtReadFile() and monitors the HDD area which stores the XBL account, then return constant data (way safer than writing to your HDD). But this would obviously require a modded console.
For now the USB approach is probably the best and it would probably be easiest to just release a tiny script for something like dd which moves an image to USB and adds the custom name (if required). PSO should even come with a USB adapter?

Still interested what Myria will find.
