Well, E3 is here, and we pretty much know what the future holds...so...this begs the question... What next gen console is the one for you? Sure, I know many of you (myself included) are going to buy more than one...but what console has you super impressed so that its going to be your "winner" for this gen. Just curious to see how the percentages weigh out.
This question's answer varies from east / west. In Japan, ps3 and Wii. 50/50 360 a very distant third. In the usa, Xbox 360, Wii, slow building ps3 support that eventually eclipses both 360 and wii, but is years off.
i dfeintly think it will mostly be wii and 360, sony it wll take awhile for them to catch up with that price.
But in the end I think ps3 will win in the states, the name is too strong among people. "It's that shit yo"
I'd definately say that the Wii will manage to slip into peoples houses because it's a cheaper alternative and has a very *playing* aspect. If nintendo play to the movement of the controller they may be able to sell it as a kind of alternative to forcing exercise on children.
I will have them all. The only one that I was unsure about was the 360 and I already have it! But PS3 to come out the global market leader. Sony is thinking long term, 3 years time and all the foundations they are putting down now will come into play. The only way I see Wii getting to a point where it has larger share than PS3 is if RPG start coming to the Wii in large amounts. However I think a HDD and BR are ideal for RPG playing so I think Sony has nailed the Japanese RPG market for my money. Not to mention Lindbergh ports abound, MGS4 and a brand all ready well established in popular culture (not just gaming culture).
Currently the 360 just because I own one & I know I'm ready for the next gen. The Wii I'll probably get quite soon because of the price, but eventually I'll have all 3. It's always the way I do it.
My only complain is that if the Wii was to become the number one console of this next generation, the variety of games would sky-rocket compared to what we would get if the PS3 was first. And statistics has proven that the more games you have, the more probable it is to have good games among them.
Im not sure. Maybe Xbox 360, then Wii, and then PS3. Im probably going to buy them at different times and probably seperated by long intervals at each. Once I get a Job, hopefully this week, I'm going to be saving a bit for this upcoming Generation.
Wii First, Probably at launch, Then 360, once I end up with enough money for one, then finally a ps3, again when I have enough money. Getting a Nice monitor is coming before all of them though!
MGS4 sealed it for me. While I am interested in the revolution, I haven't seen any games that go WOW I want this! But of course that should probably change before release. As for 360...Ah....Lost Planet looks good....hm...thats about it. I really would like to buy a 360 but all the console has is FPS' and I HATE console FPS'.
If the 360 lands officially in Brazil, this year, like Bill Gates said (and the Brazilian office confirmed), i'm gonna get one (and the majority brazilian gamers too). I'll wait a bit to say something about the Wii. The PS3? Well, someday i'll get one to play GT5, Ridge Racer 7... and any other exclusive franchises i like. But honestly, i don't think i'll get one before 2008. But before all this i'll need a new tv. Playing on a 14' Mono TV isn't something good on the actual generation, let alone in this new HD generation..
You, sir, have hit the nail directly on the head. Exactly my reason. (other than the fact that I've had serious fun with the DS and the Wii looks awesome)
Wii.. b\c I never got a gc (so then I got a new console + I can play the gc games I missed) then later on the ps3 as I never got a ps2 (same reason as the Wii) and about the x360.. don't know if I ever get one.. if they want me to buy one they better give me a good reason (translation: bring out some game that I'm actually interested in buying)
Yeah, 30 votes is not bad. The big question is "Who on this forum is not going to buy a Wii?" So those who don't think much of the Wii please raise your hand.
