I think the 360 will wind up being the market leader overall. In the US, I imagine the 360 and PS3 will have a close race, but given that MS built a huge fanbase with the Xbox and this go round their console is just as powerful and $200 cheaper... I just see more people going with the 360. I doubt the Wii will really take off in the states... it would be awesome if it did, but after the Gamecube and N64 I just don't see it happening. Kinda like the Dreamcast (though Nintendo won't become a a mere shadow of a shell of its former glory like Sega did). In Europe I think MS is going to win big. The PS3 is retardedly expensive there, and I just see more people going with the 360. Once again, I imagine the Wii will be left in the cold due to the Gamecube's name. In Japan though, I think Nintendo will reign supreme. The DS was a run away hit. Nintendo is using the exact same strategy for the Wii. I imagine the Wii will be a HUGE hit there. After that, obviously, the PS3... because of Final Fantasy... and its Sony... But I think MS will make some big strides there thanks to games like Blue Dragon, Losy Odyssey, Lost Planet, new Far East of Eden, new tri-Ace RPG, etc. But until Final Fantasy is exclusive to a MS console... I don't see MS ever taking Japan. Personally, I'll be getting a Wii the day it comes out (already have a 360). Thats about all the next-gen gaming I need. And the price of a PS3 could start me off with a nice PC-Engine Duo collection, or set me up for Eyeful Home or Derisoba Deluxe or Heim Waltz... or... hell, there's so much more I would rather do with that kind of money.
Well I was going for a X360 first, but the Wii looks pretty damn good so my basic bundle would be those two. I don't know which one would be the first, it depends of ninty selling the Wii for just $200 or MS cutting the price of the premium pack to $299. If both things happens, then I'm getting both for the holidays:dance: About PS3, meh, unless sony launchs it with an über lineup making it irresistible to any gamer then I pass, specially since the price scares the crap outta me (the $499 lame-pack has the same estimated price of both Wii and X360). If not then I'm waiting until it hits $250 or less, with HDMI of course. So, could anyone add a "X360 and Wii" option to the poll? PS: where's the Wii icon?
360 for me. Don't need anything else, this system hasn't disappointed me and the best is still on the way!
Wii Might get a 360 and PS3 later on, but I am not paying 400 or 600 euro for some beefed up graphics (for the moment).
Of all strange things my mother asked me to loan her my gamecube and pikmin.. If that doesn't say something I don't know what does... Now imagine if all she has to do is point and shout at the tv.. lol. If this works out I think every one in the world will have a wii. (that sounds so bad)
It's nice making parents play videogames. I enjoy finding creative ways in convincing the folks that they can also do it. although i must admit they lack the syncro, they had quite alot of fun with the DS and it's mini-games etc.
Indeed, nintendo wasnt a good overlord back in the day... I was never able to convince my folks of getting into gaming, my dad barely uses the computer.
I got my mom a GBA and some RPG's for mothers day. She loves it lol. Something I was wondering: how many people here actually have the HD TV's and such PS3 and 360 need to get there moneys worth?
The thing is: People that arent playing games wont care about ps3 or xbox 360, but people that arent playing games could possibly care about the Wii. Wii could come out as the winner, even if the gaming community choose the ps3 or xbox 360 over the wii.
I really want the Wii,I really dont see the 360 doing well once the PS3 and the Wii come out.My brother has a 360 and Im not very impressed by it at all,they have some ok games but I could care less about pc port games.The PS3 is way to much money for my taste.And my mom is a Nintendo freak,she wants to get the Wii on launch day with zelda.
With the history Sony has I would have guessed PS3 would have been on top regardless of the cost. But after what I've heard and read about E3. I'm going to guess it's gonna be Wii. But I like PhreQuencyViii wanted to press NONE! the End is Near....lol *shurgs*
