Er... how does one get in and out of that? Does a person in the middle just have to wait until the place closes?

I'm wondering what the pool looks like when everyone gets out...? It there like a foot of water left in it?

    A couple of questions.

    1) Why can't they just stagger entrance admission like they would anywhere else in the world?

    2) Did I see a diving board in there? How the HELL could you use that without killing either yourself or the people you landed on?

    3) Why the bloody rubber rings? Remove them (there are so many they appear to be compulsory!) and you'd get easily another 50,000 people in there! That's just poor planning lol.

There is just no way of knowing whether someone has pissed in the pool. It's bad enough in a normally populated pool, but in that particular scrum I would suggest that technically you could end up swimming in more parts urine than swimming pool water.

    Lovely!

...just wondering how long it would have taken for them to clear that pool in Jaws98 ? Chief Brody's nephews cousin shouts "SHARK!"

    Watch the carnage begin!

In Jaws98 it would turn out that there was no shark to begin with (budget constraints) and just a deranged relative of Brody shouting SHARK at inappropriate times.

Limited appeal film...closes after 2 weeks and ironically spells the end of the film industry.

<But you know it will become a cult classic none the less>

99% that they did but the Japanese are just a human form of sheep! They have no sense of NOT following the crowd. Every year you see the same shit on the news of dumb arses waiting hours upon hours in traffic jams trying to travel places in summer. I told the wife that we'd travel at night because there would be less traffic on the road. You should have seen here face :eek:h: It was if traveling at night was some new phenomenon

That would be close to give them a fair point.

Again, go with the sheep story.

    Hahahaha, how true!

Compare that to the UK equivalent (Uxbridge Lido) - taken at the height of summer! <Actually it was closed by the local council, probably when a health & safety report suggested that water was a highly volatile substance and could lead to accidents and thus compensation - you can now go around the corner and swim in a special tank of cotton wool, whilst being suspended on safety harness>

Off Topic * there are loads of unused Lido's throughout the UK (that one isn't remotely near me). It's an image I just picked off Google for comic effect... and you found the new plans then? LOL

I remember back in the day there used to be a good few Lido's near me that were closed but things have picked up recently, my local has just hit the local rag front page as they had 3 hour queues on that Sunday a few weeks back when it hit 30 degrees.

Having said that, the 4 or so near me I can think of that were pools that hit trouble are now knocked down or redeveloped into flats.

I found that pic on the council site so I guess they plan on doing it all up but I wonder, if it's been allowed to get to that stage is it really needed?

Anywho, back on topic, I grabbed some of the text from the page I got my image from up there.

"Several times when I’ve been in Toshimaen Pool in those conditions they annouced over the loudspeakers they needed to close the pool for 30 minutes to, and I quote: “Allow the filters to recover.â€￾ The poop in the pool clogs the filters to the point the system overloads. Now there’s a good job for a n00b gaijin/foreigner: “Pool Poop Wrangerâ€￾.

Any of you over there need some extra yen?
