My god.... my first reaction was that it had to be a staged group photo or something. But yeah, Yakumo's sheep comment is right on the money. People here do the exact same things at the same time on the same weekend each year. That's why I vowed never to travel again during the Golden Week or New Year's holidays.

Untimely death of an in-law is really untimely in Golden Week. Tokyo to 4 hours N.E. from Akita City

    :crying:

He says while trying not to be heartless.....

Hmmmm... exactly WHAT are you refering to there? lol :fresh:

Perhaps that's why every male in the pool has a rubber ring. A bumper!

Wow, I wish that there was a pool near my house. It's been over 100 degrees every day for the past two weeks...

Haven't they closed a few pools during the summer due to people getting ill in them?

As for Lidos, Tooting in London, England still has one of the best ones in Europe. :)

The night thing doesn't always work either. In snowboarding season, you'd think by leaving at 2AM you'd not have any traffic. Yeah, right. Gridlock until you get out of Tokyo... then, it just goes to "pretty congested" when you get on the freeway.

Really crazy picture. Also, whats the point of going swimming if there is no room to SWIM? Or maybe guys like rubbing up against the girls in somewhat revealing clothes, as apposed to doing it in a crowded mall with lots of clothes on. lol

I was born in Roehampton but lived most of my childhood in Tooting. Nice place (or least it was when I left). Although I never did visit the Lido (although I did go to the one with the slides in Wandsworth before they shut it down.).
