Anyone got any detailed information and high quality pictures of this bad boy? I've done a few searches around google, and found out a few things... but most of it is the same info/pictures over and over. Here's what I do know: It's an MSX and Laser Disc player in one. Here's what I'm looking for: How many versions of the system were released, release dates for specific versions, rarity, types of games? Thanks, AWS
Hum... I've got some pix I grabbed from an Ebay auction a while ago but it was a separate LD and MSX unit, I'll try to dig that up for you, if you are interested? It's not high res but decent enough. I didn't know there were some MSX enthusiast here??? I still have my MSX 1 fully boxed and in excellent condition, I don't have a lot of games remaining but I'm working on reconstructing my collection... I so wanna play that Penguin Adventure game again!!! Sabre
Just been on Ebay and a couple of LD games are listed at the moment: - Rolling Blaster - Cosmos Circuit - Starfighters So that's 3 of them with small pix :icon_bigg Sabre
I have the complete Palcom collection with hardware and the 10 LDs. If you want I will take some photos.
Here are the pics, actually there were made by a member of this forum if I recall well... http://uk.geocities.com/sabre470/images/msxld/1.jpg http://uk.geocities.com/sabre470/images/msxld/2.jpg http://uk.geocities.com/sabre470/images/msxld/3.jpg http://uk.geocities.com/sabre470/images/msxld/4.jpg http://uk.geocities.com/sabre470/images/msxld/5.jpg http://uk.geocities.com/sabre470/images/msxld/6.jpg http://uk.geocities.com/sabre470/images/msxld/g1.jpg http://uk.geocities.com/sabre470/images/msxld/g2.jpg Cheers Sabre
Here is the fullset(well,it actually misses one game)of the Palcom games, from Adol/symbios2004: http://www0.gamekult.com/forum/lire_n323168_page13/
@sabre470 yes , i posted them. i have some more on my hdd somewhere , i`ll check tomorrow. @Karellen thx for the link , Badlands was the only palcom game missing in my collection -.- very hard to find and very expensive
I seem to recall that some games were released for the MSX in CED format as well. I think they required another MSX system to play them though, as they were not compatible with the Palcom MSX unit. I'd love to get my hands on one of these, but they're so darn expensive and rare.
It's Smisey Home, that's not really a game,it's the same type as Nagoya Home Banking. With it and the Megadrive modem, you were able to handle your bank account remotely.
Actually that's not quite true from what I have been told. It used the Nagoya/Mega Answer network (Nagoya is just OEM Mega Answer) but for life insurance planning not banking. I asked a JP contact ages ago about this and this is what he said.... It would be very interesting to see the instruction manual...as that could definitely swing it one way or the other. Mega Answer and Nagoya have the same manual...but I believe this has a different one as it is a different utility..but now owning it (yet....hopefully one day) I can't say for sure.
A friend said that in Japan the utility ones are counted as games because you could buy them from shops or mail-order. He said too that if a game was ready to be released but did not make it to the shops in the end it is still counted (like the Tetris game). He said that in Japan collectors count the utility games as needed for a complete collection because they are not classed as 'Not For Sale' games. I was wondering if they are counted here too? Does Adol have all of them? He said too that after Warlock and Itchy & Scratchy, the Nagoya Home Banking game was the most difficult for him to collect out of all the games. I guess they must be difficult to collect here too?
Does this chap have Go Net? I've seen Nagoya for sale a few times (and Mega Answer) but never Sumitomo Seimei or Go Net. As for whether they are counted here..I guess it just depends on the person. Personally I want them all to have the 'full' set, in my eyes at least. Everything from nagoya to the baseball scores cart. Wonder midi/library etc. I don't know if I want Warlock and itchy & Scratchy though..I heard they didn't existtbh, do you have any info Juste?
Yes,actually I think you're right since your explanation about the word "Smisey" and Sumitomo Seimei is more than convincing. And this is also said here: http://www.hi-net.zaq.ne.jp/cielo/md430.htm About Warlock and I and S,they are prototypes but they exist since they're in the wish list of some japanese shops and they even have a purchase price, sometimes surprisingly low(about only 12000 yens for Warlock). These games don't appear in the Segahard, which is the official list of released Megadrive games in Japan,so it really depends of the opinion of people. Some people will count them in the list because they were sold, and some other people won't count them because they're not in the Segahard.Smisey Home for example is referred as hibaihin(not for sale)by Mandarake and by the guy in the link beyond. And for the games like Tetris,it's the same problem, since they're not in the Segahard.
