Cyclone 2? What do you even need the Megadrive for besides power and controller ports?

The cyclone II is really THAT powerful?

So I guess it might be possible to emulate the SVP (virtua racing chip)?

    Well.. its all relative.

Its Alteras Entry Level FPGA. But it IS a FPGA. Compared to the CPLD that Krikzz usually uses on his Carts (MAX II i think).

Needs a Highend FPGA or several FPGA. I love XILINX VIRTEX with PPC embbedded:thumbsup:
    But very expensive

of course need, but for what? may be for super fast brutforce machine ? :) complete zx spectrum clone can be implemented in smallest cyclone2, genesis itself can be implemented in mid level cyclone :p

probably enough, but too many work for one game

I like the PowerPak for the NES but this is crazy talk. I have 3 NES consoles and all of them give me visible jailbars ONLY when using the PowerPak. I know a guy who RGB mods NES systems and he says of the ~30 or so he's done, every single one of them has way worse jailbars when using the PowerPak.

You may not be noticing them because you are playing on some old CRT with composite or RF or something. Play it on any flat TV and you are going to see them. Super Mario Bros 1 (the blue background) is the easiest place to see them.

It's not my fault if you are playing a NES on a Digital/HD TV. Use a proper TV instead of a display that barely supports low resolution computer graphics.

Also just because some guy that RGB mods has the same problem doesn't mean it's the PowerPAK's fault alone. Clearly the modding is at fault too. Either way I think this subject is done since it's clear Krikkzz is not going to be working on a NES flash cart in the immediate future. I never saw these complaints on NESDEV.

I like how you were negative about "playing on some old CRT". You have things backwards. The NES is intended to be played on a 15khz CRT display. If you are playing it on any Digital display your display is part of the problem.

True, I kept a flat 21'' Sony CRT just for playing my beloved consoles.
The modern LCDs just won't cut it when it comes to old consoles.

Wow. Im in for one, too! Long live Krikzz!

The only Flashcart for the PCE I ever got was the NeoMyth one. And their stupid propriatary GBA Memory Cards SUCK!!! (Yeah, they SUCK. I said it. Sue me :dammit: )

Okay, I know, that was the only one without this GBA cart... but anyway...

But on a side note.. I really wonder how one man can do all this? All those carts, the hardware design, the software engineering, the testing, the production... Do the days in Ukraine have more than 24 hours?

This is fantastic news! Honestly, I think I've wanted this more than any other flash cart, except for the Everdrive MD.

I was reminded of Family Guy by this response. ;)

A PC-Engine EverDrive in the future is great news.
