I have a 32" Vizio Plasma TV. Recently I noticed at the top center area of the screen when watching TV that there is like a bit of static in the picture. Its hard to explain without seeing it. You can still see the picture and colors but its like the little tiny pixels are flickering. It comes and goes at random it seems and at times can cover a much larger area in the center of the TV but sometimes just the top. Like I said it comes and gos at what seems random. It does it on ALL inputs from coax up through HDMI and on all systems and players. I have removed all power strips and tryed unhooking everything one at a time. Also made sure no magnets or anything are near it. Im at a complete loss and cant find anything online so if any of you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks!

Does the noise increase the longer the TV is on? Or does it stay the same?

Its not normal. Im very anal about my stuff and I noticed it instantly about 2 weeks ago while playing wii and im like OMG this blows...

As for the time the TV is on im not sure. My wife has it on most of the day. its used around 15 hours each day total. Sometimes I can move it on its mount and it will just stop or get better. but it comes and gos at what seems random to me.

I will try to get a pic or video but its hard to see so I dont know how that will work out.

I think that it's just normal plasma wear and tear. Do you white wash it frequently? Do you even still have to do that with plasmas? I'm not sure.

I've heard Plasmas don't last that long (compared to other technology) and also that they really suck electricity. If you have a high electric bill, running that TV so much probably is part of the impact. Also I'm not sure that Vizio is exactly known for high quality product. Personally I've had good luck with Samsung.

No they don't. They are among the best for picture quality. The issue is with the quality of the set itself. Vizio isn't exactly known for quality.

Plasmas have a half-life where they will reduce in brightness, which is comparable to a LCD whos backlight has a limit as well. Most Plasmas are energy star certified, which, like LCDs, if you don't blast the brightness, are quite efficient, if only slightly less than a comparable LCD. Panasonic currently makes some of the top Plasmas (and TVs in general).

LCD?? The energy saving TVs are LED. If they sell them yet in the US, get a new LED screen. Fantastic colours, nice viewing angle and cheaper to run. They only come up to 50 inch though I think.
