Has anyone else ran into this problem? I've gone to buy a game used from EB, JB Hi-Fi and GAME 90% of the time the staff member puts a platinum disc in the case. I always stop them before closing the case saying "hey! Wrong disc!!" they just look at me weird and say it's the same game. When ever they say that I feel like saying "well put a XBOX 360 version in the Playstation 3 case, there same game!" Anyway, it's becoming too common and starting to piss me off.. Does anyone else avoid Platinum games like I do? Cause mainly in collections you'd want the game to complete right?
i agree with you on that one. i havent bought games from eb or jb as yet (apart from new ones) but they couldnt give a flying fuck most of the time.
Not that I support what they do, but they look at it from a selling and regular gamer (most of their customers) perspective: most people will just want a working game, no matter if the disc/case is the original or platinum edition. They don't give a f*ck about collectors... at least not when selling used games.
People get paid minimum wage to sell you a game, plus their usual extras. 99% of people dont care as long as they get their game.
I hate that excuse. It's their job so they should give a shit no matter what they get paid. It's not the customers problem, it's the company you work for. Yakumo EDIT: yep, even in Japan I've had staff put the wrong disc in to a case. Segagaga comes to mind. I bought the DVD cased version which was uncensored but they put the normal game in there. To be honest it's hard to tell the two apart if you don't check the serial numbers, something which Japanese stores do tend to do.
Yes it happened to me before at EB. Finally found the original Ratchet & Clank and got it home only to find an ugly platinum disc that had obviously been rebuffed:banghead:
Couldn't agree more. I worked minimum wage for the last two years prior to starting my university degree and I always made sure that I did a good job. I know the people who give a shit because they are paid like crap, but I always regarded that as an excuse made by pussies. They are not forced to do that job, therefore, put some fucking effort into it. If someone feels depressed or whatnot because of the job itself, then don't work at all instead of pissing off customers who also have to work for the money they spend and lose on your lack of work ethics.
Also if you do a good job in your current position you are more likely to get a promotion. And you are more likely to enjoy your job, no matter how shitty it is.
I had a similar thing happen to me, I bought Banjo-Kazooie from game station and when I got home Banjo-Tooie was in the box
